I've heard from a few people speculating that the SWEENEY TODD teaser trailer may be shown in front of "Pirates of the Carribbean: At Worlds End."
I don't know if this is true or not.
Has anyone heard about this either way?
brb i peed myself
I believe the film does not officially open until Thursday at 8. Only people who have seen advanced screenings will know now.
Great lead in - hope it's true.
I went to the PIRATES press screening yesterday and there was no SWEENEY teaser attached... just Disney stuff: Ratatoullie and National Treasure 2
Was at work last night and the four prints of Pirates that we have do not have Sweeney Todd teaser.
Same here- no sign of "Sweeney". Too bad- this would have been the perfect opportunity to cater to the Depp fans.

I think it's a little too early for a teaser. Especially with production haulted and such. Heres to hoping though.
What do you mean production halted?
Filming is completed. It's in post-production.
It WAS haulted when Depp's daughter was extremely ill and he had to leave set to go be with her, but it is done now.
It makes no difference where they are in the production process. It's a teaser, which is usually done with no footage incorporated from the film.
The teaser for Dreamgirls was created before they had finished casting, and before principal photography had even begun.
For Sweeney, you'll get the logo (animated) and probably the OBCR playing in the background. That's it.
Not that they won't get people excited by that... but it's a teaser (only).
Exactly. Production WAS haulted quite some time ago when Johnny Depp's daughter fell ill, but filming resumed about 2 weeks later. The film has since completed principal photography about a week ago, and is now in post-production.

It's too bad that there won't be a preview with Pirates because I think that would be perfect for it. To have a preview for the next Johnny Depp movie with a Johnny Depp movie.
I have the feeling that a teaser will show up soon. I think that it'll probably be with Harry Potter 3 seeing that two actors from that movie are in Sweeney(Rickman and Carter).
I think the teaser should be alot of quick shots of the characters in the movie with the ballad of Sweeney Todd playing in the background and ending with Sweeney killing a man.

Oops, sorry for the misinformation. I have been out fo the loop a while and thought an article I read yesterday said they were still haulted.
Won't this film most likely be rated R? If so, don't expect to see it with Harry Potter or Pirates.
It might be, depending how graphic they depict it.

Why would it make sense to haveit in front of Pirates or Harry though? Those are family movies--Sweeney certainly isn't... Do they wanna scare 2/3rds fo the audience to death?
I'm surprised Dreamworks didn't press for a teaser. It could come later with this release, they can splice in new trailers at any time. Remember how simple the Dreamgirls teaser was? It will surely be on Hairspray.

That will most def NOT be the teaser for this film...not Burton's style at all.
Dreamworks and Disney are competing studios...they normally wouldn't have trailers from the other studios attached to them. Before you flame me, yes...previews for competing studios run all the time before movies but much of that is up to the theater playing the film. Studios can request not to have certain trailers attached or unattached. (It's a crazy process)
i will so see todd when it comes out i am a big johnny Depp Fan the storyline does not please me though he will be great in it
Does punctuation not please you either? :/
Yeesh, I've been here too long. I have nothing to add to the conversation but cattiness. Um... my rat is sleeping in a baseball cap and it is very cute! *runs the other way*
Might actually get me off the fence to go see Pirates if there WAS a Sweeney teaser. But since Pirates is precariously close to 3 hours and I dozed off during the 2nd film, probably not...

If Phantom of the Opera somehow got a PG 13 rating--Sweeney will definetly get an R--again why would they show this trailer before any of these films? :S

If Sweeney doesn't get an R rating I will be very disappointed, I feel like it needs to be bloody, even if Burton's last film was the worst kid movie ever, no matter how pretty and colorful everything was...
