Jordan-can you leave the windowcard with the doorman for a signature?

She hasn't come out the stage door in months. Yet they still tell everyone each night that she will so they wait over an hour until they finally say that she's left.
Jordan - That stinks. It is fine if she does not want to sign but why continue to tell people she is going to sign. I would give them credit if they just said Ms. Johansson does not sign and that way people can go home or enjoy the rest of their night in NYC instead of wasting time waiting for her.
She has not signed since February 9th or 10th. From what I've been told from various people, the tall older (mid-late 70s) skinny guy with the Triton bag, cane, hat, and fur coat harassed her and insulted her when she flubbed a line that night but only because she wouldn't switch to his silver pen to sign multiple posters. Two people told me he called her a lousy b***h (sometime either the 12th or 13th). Apparently she through down her sharpie said forget it and went inside and the car pulled off to pick her up from another exit...no one got her signature that night as he was up front by the door. The rest is history.
I really hope she will sign for the following week. I'd love for her to sign my poster as she is the LAST one who hasn't signed it and I've gone by there 12 times in hopes that something might change.
I heard that the doorman always says that she'll be coming out, only to later say that she has already "left the building." They should just be like "look she doesn't sign." It isn't really that big of a deal.
I imagine that they don't tell people at the stage door she isn't coming out because they want to keep all the fans there so the other door will be clear until she makes her exit.
Thanks for explaining about the old man with the cane. That very well could be why she stopped the stage door. How unfortunate for her and .....my son.
I have visited the stage door 11 times since mid February in rain, sleet and snow. Scarlett has not come out once, her car pulls up to the exit just left of the main entrance and she is completely inaccessible. When waiting by the door the local officer questioned who I was waiting for. I explained cordially, his response was "if I was to make any attempt at confronting Scarlett for a signature, he would be forced to intercept due to strict instructions." Finally last week I made a last attempt by trying to drop the poster off backstage to be signed. I was informed by the production stage manager Lisa that "due to the actions of an unruly gentleman while signing, Scarlett will no longer be coming out the stage door for the remainder of the shows run". I had asked if she could have the poster signed by her backstage, she declined but urged me to purchase a BCEFA poster after the performance. She also noted that there is an very limited quantity available after each performance. I waited till the show had finished and entered the lobby only to find out BCEFA currently no longer had posters available. The young lady had told me to try again over the weekend. I showed up on Sunday a few minutes after curtain and they had 1 poster left, since it was the last one they bumped the price up to $200. I'm going to wait till later on this week to make a last attempt, or at least buy the poster at the normal price of $100. Piano Conductor there may be some validity to your story about this skinny old man. I just wish people could be more orderly and considerate and not ruin it for the rest of us. Well good luck to you all!
I was there a few weeks ago, of course no Scarlett, but Ben Walker signed and took pictures. He was incredibly nice and down to earth, until someone gave him a blank white card. He said something along the lines of "No way man. The white card? I don't know where you're selling that s***! Nice try." I got a good laugh from it, but at least it was nice to see some of these people turned down!
I hate these Ebay a-holes. Honestly. I don't collect autographs but I totally get people who do and many friends of mine collect signed playbills and posters. People who get multiple things signed to resell them are leeches and snipes and I support any measure taken to crack down on them.
They are literally making money price gauging fans for standing there and profiting off of someone else's name. It's disgusting and as we can see here, it ruins things for people who genuinely just want a signature or a moment of someone's time. It's unfortunate that Scarlett won't be able to sign for those who weren't part of the problem, but honestly, I know types like this man and they deserve to be punished.
i see that old guy all that time, next time I see him I'm giving him a piece of my mind. And apparently ben is no longer coming out to sign, the three times I've been by he has taken a different door
So someone (maybe) said something not so nice to the big multi million dollar movie star and she got mad? Poor girl. Hope she has the balls to stand in front of photographers all trying to get her picture, since they yell MUCH nastier things at people.
I was there Sat. night. I got my poster! The BCEFA announcement was that they were selling windowcards for $100, taking general donations, and also, for the first 5 people who lined up at the front of the stage for $500 they could have a picture with the principals- Scarlett, Ben, Ciaran, and Debra. I really enjoyed the evening, there are some wonderful performances happening at the Richard Rodgers! It is unfortunate that 1 person ruins it for the rest! I occasionally stage door and I detest when people, who haven't seen the show are already there when the show leaves out- I second the "recoup" comment above!
@Phillytheatreguy So there were no signed playbills for sale just the posters? So sad because I collect signed playbills but have no room for posters. Sigh.
