Maybe showing my ignorance here, but that doesn't look like a Broadway rehearsal script to me? Don't they usually just have the name of the show, and the name of the actor, with no headshot? This binder only has Powell's name and headshot. Looks more like an audition book to me.
But even if it is a rehearsal script: West Side Story opened already, so theoretically he wouldn't need his rehearsal script anymore anyway, right? Maybe they'd have some brush-ups because of the shut down, but he could certainly feel confident enough to not need his rehearsal script.

There are some shows that periodically have table reads during the run of the show (most notably LuPone's GYPSY) and the script would be needed. Also, Carol Channing kept her DOLLY script in her dressing room and put notes in it about what went well at certain performances.
And most actors I know save all their scripts....he could certainly mean they arent coming back, and not actually throw out his script.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Unlike Mockingbird, WSS had made no money when it closed, people were out nightly with injuries, one person had to leave the company because of said injury, and it was already controversial even before it opened.
I doubt they want to compete with Spielberg's actual masterpiece and I know that most people don't want to go back to "West Side Story in Trump's America". We have all moved on. And the people who don't want to move on from that don't see Broadway shows anyways.

How can anyone consider a film to be an "actual masterpiece" when they haven't seen it?
I'm not sure if this is true, but I had heard West Side Story was closing and Mormon was holding off until next year so they can workshop the rewrites that Lopez/Parker/Stone were going to make.

Considering that the West End “Mormon” is reopening in October, that makes no sense to hold off just in New York. If they’re making changes to the show they’d make them to all productions.

The West End production is reopening in mid-November, and to my knowledge it will be the last of the "big" musicals to reopen overseas. Also, the West End reopened way before B'way eventually will, and several months will have passed between the first May 17 reopenings and Mormon. Assuming the same thing may happen to the B'way production due to rewrites/new material, this takes us into next year.

Utopia is changing theaters per box office rep who answered. I believe it was posted."
So, does that mean Plaza Suite will still take place at theHudson theaterthis fall? I bought tickets sometime last spring for June 2021 and there was no communication from the theater since then."
The Hudson has zero communication on this show. I bought my tickets in Sept 2019 for a performance in March 2020. That was exchanged for this past May that has since passed. I’ve emailed and called with no response. My guess is with SJP just started AJLT for HBO and MB just signing to do a Hathaway movie, this production will not take place this year. Maybe they’re still trying to figure it all out but there should be some type of communication sent out to people holding tickets for performances that have been cancelled. It’s terrible business and customer service practice.
I've seen other news outlets also say that there's no new on The Minutes, but we have a date (March 15, 2022) if not a theater, so it does seem like the production is going forward.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I've called Hudson about three weeks ago and got my Plaza Suite ticket refunded with no issue. I had the ticket insurance though. The lady on the phone informed me that they have absolutely no info on the future dates of the show and whether it's going to occur at all. Given SJP's busy schedule (Hocus Pocus movie), will she even have time for this production?
