The excitement of going into a theater and waiting for a show to start; getting taken to another world; how it can change people's lives; being able to meet the actors after if I so choose.

3. What was the first Broadway show you ever saw?
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

4. Have you ever been in a show, whether in a school, community theater, regional or on Broadway?

1. I am a former teacher trying to be a former teacher without going bankrupt while I work on writing. I'm TRYING to become a nanny in NYC or LA so I can move closer to the action, but despite my high qualifications (my agency's words, not mine), my gender and my distance are a challenge in getting the job.

2. I love the music and storytelling, plus the fact that it's live.
3. First shwo ever was Carol Channing on tour in HELLO, DOLLY! in 1994. It was like a drug. First show ON Broadway: Jeykll and Hyde with Colleen Sexton and Christy Tarr (and Sebastian Bach)
4. I have done bit parts in OUR TOWN and J.B. and directed four shows at the high school level: HELLO, DOLLY!, UP THE DOWN STAIRCASE, THE PAJAMA GAME, and THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK (Kesselman revision), plus in college I did the final scene from A DOLL HOUSE. I've directed and performed in a lot of my own stuff on a very small scale.

1. What do you do?
I'm a painter working on my Masters in Fine Arts. To pay the bills, I'm the Audience Services Manager (in charge of Box Office, Concessions and house staff) for the Performing Arts complex at the school I attend. Before that, I held the same position in a regional repertory theatre for 15 years.

2. What is it you love about Broadway?
It breaks through that studious, professional, dignified, controlled front I put on every day and let's me experience all the intensity life has to offer. I cry/laugh/sobb at the power of an emotion, the impossibly simple beauty of a song or the stirring thrill of those first overture notes without any ability or desire to control it. It helps me keep in touch with my soul.

3. What was the first Broadway show you ever saw?
Lion King. Aside from the thrill of the show itself, I was in awe of the fact that I was sitting in the same theatre (The New Amsterdam, then) that So many legends had performed in, from Fannie Brice on.

4. Have you ever been in a show, whether in a school, community theatre, regional or on Broadway?
I was in one middle school production. I was so nervous I mistakenly did a line that I was not supposed to do for another 40 minutes. Unfortunately the rest of the kids picked it up at that point and the play ended up running about 20 minutes total. Some kids didn't even get to go on because their only part was in the part of the play we'd skipped over. And the worst part is that it was a one night only show. I don't belong on stage.

5. What is your favorite Broadway show?
Way too difficult a question.

Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.

1. I'm a 16 year old risinh junior at an all-girls catholic high school in Westchester.
2. I love the music and I love getting away from my real life for a little while and I love that the performers are so incredibly accessible. I also love the fact that not that many people are into musical theatre so being a fan feels special in a way.
3. The original cast of Beauty and the beast when I was six years old.
4. I've been in junior high/high school shows every year but our program kind of sucks so it isn't something I'm particularly proud of. It isn't something I want to pursue as a career either.
5. I absolutely hate to say it on this board and it certaintly isn't the best show I've seen (or anywhere near it) but Wicked. It makes me more exhilerated that anything else.

What do you do?
For money, I'm a freelance editor and office drone. In my spare time, I sew, I write, I sing, and I direct (both stage and audio theatre).

What is it you love about Broadway?
I love the energy and the instant gratification. With my other creative projects (painting, writing) I wonder if/when they'll be appreciated, but the rush of in-the-moment laughter, sighs, and applause from the audience is incredibly thrilling.

What was the first Broadway show you ever saw?
*cringe* Annie

Have you ever been in a show, whether in a school, community theatre, regional or on Broadway?
I've written, directed, assistant directed, sung, stage managed, and conducted theatre. I've also performed, edited, and directed audio theatre. I've done high school, college, community, and semi-pro work.

What is your favorite Broadway show?
Cliche as it is, Les Miserables - even after all these years.
