A day of peace. A day of pride. A day of justice We have been denied. Let the new day dawn, Oh, Lord, I pray... We'll never get to heaven Till we reach that day. ~Ragtime

You're that little girl with her wings unfurled, flying again.
Back in your backyard dancing...I found a way back to then. - [title of show]
From RENT: The heart may freeze or it can burn The pain will ease if I can learn There is no future There is no past I live this moment as my last
From AVENUE Q: If I were to go back to college Think what a loser I'd be I'd walk through the quad And think "oh my God!" These kids are so younger than me.
from THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA: Know what I love best, Lotte said Is when I'm asleep in my bed and the Angel of Music sings songs in my head. (sooo creepy!!)
From RENT: Its not on the OBCR: but in the show after Angel dies and Maureen says "You were so much more original than any of us. You'd find an old tablecloth on the street and make it into a dress, and sure enough next week they'd be mass producing them at the Gap."
From WEST SIDE STORY: We're no good, we're no good! We're no earthly good, Like the best of us is no damn good!
I have several, too. But the one that popped into my head immediately was from Ragtime. SweetSoprano listed the exact lyrics that get me. Audra singing "Your Daddy's Son", but more specifically the climax of the song starting from "Couldn't hear no music". WOW that always just really gets me...
Also, from Rent (most of these others have already said) "When your heart has expired!" Oh my... Also, both of the fights after the funeral. Mimi and Joanne vs Maureen and Roger. Then Mark and Roger. "Hey, for someone who's always been let down, who's heading out of town? For someone who longs of a community of his own, who's with his camera...alone?"

Wow I thought I was the biggest RENT fan ever and this lyric "when your heart has expired" made me go back to the cd sleeve and find where it was from, and I couldnt believe that I NEVER heard or noticed that lyric before..........and I thought I knew every single word of the show by heart.
Yeah, truthfully the whole entire reprise of "I'll Cover You" just gets me. And then it goes straight into the fights after the funeral...wow. I love that part. But when Jesse L. Martin just hits that, "When your heart has expired"...woah... Updated On: 1/2/08 at 11:56 PM
In Epiphany, after "No, I'll never hug my girl to me - FINISHED"... the "Alright" gives me chills everytime. It may be my favorite spoken line in a song ever.
Also, Lansbury's spoken "What a shame" in "If He Walked Into My Life". Brilliant, heartbreaking.
From 110: "Oh God don't let me live and die alone." from "Old Maid". Particularly the way Audra delivered it as she just got better and better. I was sobbing almost convulsively at the closing show.
From Chess: Practically all of "Pity the Child" but especially: "I never called to tell her all I'd done. I was only her son." and "I never called. A crazy thing to do. Just in case she said who."

What happened to the wonderful adventures The places I had planned for us to go Some of them we did, but most of them we didn't And why I just don't know - Mamma mia
something i've noticed thats kind of interesting is that so many of the lines that give us the chills are foretelling of the story and probably wouldn't have such an impact if we didn't know the show.
