Posted: 5/25/07 at 7:02pmI couldn't tell you for sure where the cast exits (actually, I'd love to know myself...) but when I saw Altar Boyz at that theatre, the cast exited through the lobby, so it MIGHT be the same. Like I said, though, I'm really not sure.

If ANYONE has a ticket that they would like to pass on at a great discount, or a payment plan, PM me.
I'm dying to see the show, but with my surgery, I'm finacially wiped...

Saw the first preview last night (May 24th) and what a joy it was to see this GLORIOUS cast back together again. Performances were simply amazing and hard to beleive that most of the cast have been away from their roles for over a year. The audience was won over and simply was surprised how good a time they had! I thought the lady behind us was going to pee in her pants from laughing so hard!!! It was fun to hear so raves from people as we exited the theatre...in fact some were still laughing! I think word of mouth is going to sell out the run soon!
Minor script changes to reflect the local Los Angeles area. Great to see some of the cast crack-up at some of Jay Riess' ad-libs.
SPELLING BEE fits beautifully into a proscenium type stage. Although the spotlight workers need A LOT more rehearsal time.
Yippppeee - sat in Row O stage right and caught a Chip Tolentino concession snack!
Warning - if you sit in the very back of the Orch section (under the Mezz overhang) you won't be able to see Jesus make his appearance!

Jesus?
Did you just spoil something for the folks that haven't seen the show yet?

Two questions...
Question 1: How far back do you not get to see the entrance? I'm going to be in row N...
Question 2: Does anyone know where the actors leave?
Thanks!
Amy

Posted: 5/25/07 at 8:26pmif you are facing the theatre, they leave on the left hand side (near the parking lot) most came out of that door, but some came out of the front, the people at the stage door are very helpful if you just ask them. The show was amazing!! It was so great to see the entire cast back together again. I was up in the balcony and about a row away from "the entrance", which was very fun. There were a few technical problems with the show, but i am sure that they will be fixed before opening. The cast was great at the stage door and we were able to get pictures and autographs from every cast member. Good times all around. GO SEE IT!!

G,
No it is not. I just got a e mail from Broadwayla offering 50 % discounted seats. Also.. goldstar updates its inventory every Tuesday. Plenty of seats will be put up then. Also.. that theater allows you to volunteer to usher.
Fun show. It is great that they are offering so many discounted seats so more people can afford to go to the theater.

"iwearshoes- How do you get autographs and pictures from the entire cast if they exit from different ways? "
I would like to know to. I don't want to miss anyone. It was like when I saw Brooklyn. I waited and waited by the door then I realized Melba Moore was leaving someplace else so I had to run over there. Almost missed her, but she was glad I didn't because she wanted to thank me for a gift.

I saw it tonight, and it was a blast. The lighting still needed a bit of work, and there was an "oops" with one of the stage lights shattering above the head of the performers, but they did not seem too phased.
I was "Marigold Coneybear..."
Who knew!

I was at this performance!!! It was so great =) I love the look Marcy gave when the glass shattered. She gave this kind of "ooohh someone's in trouble" smirk and, from the corner of her eye, looked to her right where the glass fell. And then when she was about to misspell her word, she went:
Marcy: C-A-M-O-U-F-L-A...(looks back smartly at the glass)...J..
It was hilarious! =) Also at that performance, at the very beginning when Leaf was calling out all his siblings' names, a man and woman stood up when he said, "Paul." Then someone (I'm not sure who) placed their hands on the woman's shoulders and sat them back down. It was great!! When I get the time, I'll put a full review in =)

I've seen that happen before. I love it.
