I got to see them yesterday for my school's thespian trip. They're fantastic. I absolutely love Derrick Trumbly as Leaf. Such a cutie. I'd spoken with him a few times before seeing the show, so afterwards he brought some of the cast members out into the lobby to sign for my class. It was amazing. They're all so sweet.
I really really really want to see Spelling Bee again, but check out my new thread on the board and you'll see I'm having a problem.
Wicked in Chicago...I saw it 3 times, always with Kate Reinders and Ana Gasteyer, but I hear the new cast is fantastic, and I can personally vouch for Telly Leung (Boq), and Kristoffer Cusick (Fiyero). I saw them all three times and they're AMAZING,and soooo sweet. Make sure you say "Hi" to them if you stage door it. And let me know what you think of Spelling Bee. Derrick is the cutest thing ever...with Brad Weinstock a very very close second. lol
I saw Wicked in Chicago in May (the tour) and in December, with Ana and Kate. So I already have met Telly and Kris (see my fan photos), but am looking forward to seeing it again!
Wow. You've met so many amazing people. I hate living in Chicago sometimes.
When I get home from school I'll put my photos up with Derrick and Brad (from Spelling Bee Chicago) if you're at all interested in seeing them.
My dad is trying to force me to decide between seeing Spelling Bee again (which I really really want to do), or seeing Spamalot for the first time (which he really wants to do), but I'm not sure.
I'd like to see Spamalot, but I'm DYING to see Spelling Bee again.
I'll admit that I'm leaning towards Spelling Bee again. I've listened to the Spamalot cast recording and I'm not sure I'll like it as much. Maybe if I tell him I want to do Spelling Bee, we can do the lotto, and then if we win, he'll see how cheap it is and say we can do Spamalot anyways.
Besides, with us getting sit-down productions of Wicked and Spelling Bee, what are the chances that we WONT get a Spamalot ones.
I'll post all my pictures when I get home.
I have the entire cast of the Sweeney Todd revival, most of the Jersey Boys cast, Greg and Mylinda from DRS, and Derrick and Brad from Spelling Bee.
Hey about the Chicago cast, How is Christine Wearney as Logianne Schwartzandgrubinaire?
She is a friend of mine (we are both music theatre majors at Western Michigan University) and I have not yet been able to get out there to see her show.
My theater director was even commenting on her performance after the show, on the ride home, saying that from an actor's perspective, she might have deviated from the lisp once or twice but was very good about keeping her movements the same and everything.
But yes, she was absolutely hilarious. I honestly like her better than Sarah Saltzberg
A sentence I really liked from the SF cast was when this older man was wearing a navy blue blazer and his was: "Mr. X shops at the same blazer store as Miss Schwartzandgrubinaire."
My friend just called because he saw the show last night and thought I'd like to know that they saw Michelle Noh as Marcy, and they used a different "elimination" word. (He likes theatre, but isn't nearly as into it as I am. :) )
Anyway, the word wasn't "caterjunes" but something else that he thinks started with a "b." Have any of you seen them use a different word? I haven't!
