I'll miss you too! If I find out they're closing in July or something, I'll try my best to come back for their last night, but hopefully they'll make til fall.
Mer, like you, I won't be in NYC for the summer, so I will have to make a special trip back to see the show, especially for things like certain people's last days.
I saw spelling bee, when it first opened on broadway and I wrote a review, and i met the cast at a barnes and noble. I was like, crying. They read it and loved it. Then. they performed the "I Love you" song, and I was so,SO happy. I had seen the show once since then, and I just can't even believe how great the show is. I am just so excited for their anniversary! Yay!
"I'm thinking about how if you took the W in
answer, and the H in ghost, and the extra A in aardvark, and the T in listen, you could keep saying WHAT but no one would ever hear you because the whole word would be silent."

It's pretty ironic that I was ready to come back and see it anytime and then, out of all the dates they could have picked, they picked one of only 6 days this summer that I absolutely cannot go on.
Fun show tonight, I sat on the bench in the front and was abused by the cast.
Fav moment: During Marcy's speech with Jesus, a cell phone goes off in the audience. Marcy asks, "Jesus, I was wondering... (*phone rings*), do you like to salsa?" Everyone laughed, the person turned off the phone, and then she continued with "I was wondering what would happen if I didn't win today..." It was fun.
An audience speller named Hunter Elkins was described as "Hunter likes to run around chanting to the other spellers, I am Hunter, you are my prey."
