I too am very curious about tonight's performance. Any reviewers?
I saw the show on 1/12 pm, but can't help you with changes as it was the first time I saw it. What I saw was a very tightly-run theme park attraction; but I'll post an opinion later on if someone actually wants one.

The ending was rumored to be changing tonight so would love to hear an opinion! if what you saw tonight was different to others, then we'll know things have changed
So after watching the montage another question I must ask is... What the hell did Taymor do to J.Jonah Jameson? There is 2 defining physical characteristics in literally ALL other incarnations of the character- 2-toned hair (usually white temples with another color flat top) and a mustache. Mulheron's costume lacks both of them.
Groucho,
Here's my question - was there a song with a really MAD Arachne and a bunch of spiders dancing around with stolen shoes? If so, nothing much could have been changed.
Just watched the footage here on BWW and was wondering about Patrick Page (who I love). Is he wearing one of Julie's masks or is the poor guy once again trapped under layers (and hours) of green makeup/prosthetics?

I would assume it'd be a mask, considering the time it'd take to apply the make up. They wouldn't have time to transform him from Osborn to Goblin.
The behind the scenes vanity fair video showed Page having makeup appliances put on.
On the subject of him, his Osborn costume looks strikingly familiar somehow... can't put my finger on it....

Yea it is a mask that Julie designed. There is this whole sequence where she spins around in this machine and by the time it's over he is The Green Goblin. Patrick takes it off during finale and bows with the rest of the costume on.

Did rush this morning, went in early, expecting it to be busy (got there around 7) but it really wasn't busy. By 8 there were only 4 of us and by the time the Box Office opened, maybe 20 people. The person in front of me (first in line) got front row of the Flying Circle, I got Orchestra row S seat 30. The last seat in the row. Can tell me what the view will be like from there? Either way I am very intrigued as to what I will see at the Foxwoods Theatre tonight.

i sat in that same seat last saturday for the show. it's a great seat. you can see a lot of the flying action from there. you just have to turn your head to the left and it's all right there. it's also a great view of the stage. my only complaint is in the second act when there's montage videos showing and the big screens are moving around it isn't lined up perfectly, but it only would be perfect if you're sitting dead center. it's a great seat.
The Green Goblin is a silicone/foam full face appliance that is glued on with a separate foam chin and upper lip which is also glued on.
It really doesn't take that long to put on at all.

Ok, I just got back from my first viewing of Spider-Man. I can't say for sure if they have changed anything yet since I haven't seen it before, BUT to quote Reeve Carney, "Some great new things are coming in very, very soon. Some ALMOST went in today, like me flying out at the end. We've already teched it, and it's going to be cool. Cause right now everybody just kind of looks around at the end and is like 'that's the end?' so I think this will be a cooler ending."
Overall I didn't hate the show, I enjoyed it. It could use more depth and definitely needs some work on the music. It has it's flaws, but I will see it again once they make some changes. Act II that everybody complained about, I thought was cool (apart from the shoe song...wtf?? but T.V. has an incredible voice), and had no problem following it.

Does anyone have any experience with waiting by the stage door after the show? Good? Bad? How long after the show do the actors usually come out? I just purchased tickets for one of next week's shows.
Glad to hear that Reeve will fly at the end. It'll be a big visual punctuation mark, and there really ought to be more flying for all the hype.

I went to the show last Sunday,a one show day. Reeve came out, and from what I hear he almost always does. I stayed for a while and Jenn never came out, nor Patrick or TV. Reeve does not take that long to come out and it was easy to get a spot in front of the barricade.

I went to the stage door last night. There were only a handful of us waiting, and the stage door guy was really nice. Isabel Keating (Aunt May), Patrick Page, Jennifer Damiano, Reeve Carney, and T.V. Carpio all came out and signed and were all very nice, willing to take pictures and chat.
I completely forgot that Aunt May was sort of in the show. As a sarcastic bitch with four lines. The fact that they didn't give the aunt and uncle forty seconds to be established as a nice old couple and an important part of Peter's life might have been the first sign of how little the show understands the Spider-Man character.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully it isn't too cold to wait outside!
I found this picture on flickr.com... can anyone who has seen the show tell me what this is supposed to be?
I cannot attach this image so here's the link
The picture
A hodgepodge of Steve Ditko (I think) Spider-Man drawings. The set piece comes down whenever the Geek Chorus has a protracted dialogue "scene." (Basically, it's to cover up the scene changes).

I saw the 1/19 matinee and there was one stop at the end of the Act 1. Spidey got tangled up during the fight with the Green Goblin and then hung there until they got him on stage. I wonder if they cut anything off in that scene. So they have this fight, then Green Goblin throws a piano with MJ tied to it from the Chrysler Building and next thing you see is Spidey running in with MJ in his arms. What happened in between ?
Otherwise, it really was not as bad as I thought it would be after reading this board. My 20-yr-old son thought it was awesome. The worst thing about it was the number of young kids in the theater. There was one next to us, who kept talking through the entire show. Ugh.

Just got back from the evening performance. The ending's finally changed - Spider-Man now flies out over the audience (though Reeve was left hanging about 30 seconds away from the end). There was one stop in the first act (right before the song where Peter bounces off the walls), but other than that it went well.
I saw the matinee today as well... seems like a problem like today will never be able to be a "flawless" stunt because his chords got twisted while he was flying...
Siny: Couldn't agree with your post more: Sooo many little kids, and I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it - wasn't as bad as people say (besides that awful, boring score!).
They were interviewing people (including me) before the show, as well as filming the will-call line (which stretched down 42nd street)... but I have no idea why? Haven't kept up with this thread, but why are they doing this...?
