I would suggest the earlier the better, so closer to 8 would be best. And on a Sunday, you might have Matthew James Thomas, as the playbill lists that he plays certain performances, so the schedule may change sometimes. He's great though, from everything I've heard.
Thats the earliest I can get there so hopefully that will work...If not I'll head over to another show. I mean from experience what is the latest someone can arrive and get tickets? & have Bono and The Edge actually been at peformances? Updated On: 1/8/11 at 10:21 PM
^I got there at 8 on Friday and got the third to the last ticket. One lady there said they only sell 26 tickets for the rush. The girl behind me said she had been there before and they only sold 20. Bono was there on Friday in one of the boxes with his family.

I saw the show yesterday. I certainly didn't dislike it, but I still don't really know how to feel. It's just very different. There are many issues -- the entire plot line is pretty ridiculous, much of the score sounds the same (although there were several songs I genuinely enjoyed, particularly in the second act) and, surprisingly, a lot of it looked rather cheap to me. The character of Arachne is stupid, as is the device of having a "geek chorus" tell the story.
The flying was impressive (although I think I was expecting more with such a hefty price tag attached), I thought the set at the end of the first act was cool, and I enjoyed many of the performances. Matthew James Thomas was on for Peter/Spidey and he was incredible. He and Damiano easily gave the best performances in the show.
I'm sort of confused as to why I didn't dislike this show, seeing as I've been able to recognize so many glaring flaws. But it was exciting to be in that theatre, and to see everything that they're doing. I don't think I could ever recommend it to someone as a good show, but I'll certainly be telling people that it's an experience. I would be interested in going back again to see it from a different location, hopefully after they make a number of changes during previews. Updated On: 1/9/11 at 09:56 AM
i agree. i saw it jan 2 , felt the same. i was really bummed that the big fight scene stopped and was never completed for my show. thats the big exciting scene everyone talks about and it dudded out.
i didnt mind arachned as an arch villainess so much, kinda cool, but she was so here and there.
the damn book just is inconsistentand to me has a feeling of just being patched and stiched together out of so many ideas that it ceases to have impact.
the geek chorus seems like an applique.
the piano piece with gg comes out of nowhere.
the fanare at the begginning seems like , oh we need a bigger openin lets do something here...
everything all stitched together, but each piece of cloth is different.
sparkling litle set pieces cobbled toether that dont fit together well with too many slow droney songs one after another. especially in the second act.
Just saw the show last night. Agree completely with BroadwayGuy12.
SPOILER! Does anyone know if they cut a fight scene from the end. The end was so anti-climactic. Spidey was on the web, and Archnine was interrogating him, but then it just ends...??? Can someone explain better what happens in the end.
There has never been a battle there. That's what people are really complaining about... the ending just..... falls flat. Completely. He reluctantly agrees to become Arachne's to save MJ's life, then she changes her mind and sets the two free and says that she is free of "the curse" and she flies to the heavens. Then MJ says "Go get 'em Tiger." and he poses. And an ugly tye-dye banner falls. The end.
When exactly are the "changes" going to be put in? Are they just going to suddenly appear with new ending, new music, new cuts on the 7th? What exactly have they WORKING on for the last 6 weeks? So U2 has been on tour, I am sure they had their days free to work on this. And what has Julie been doing? I mean it is not like she is doing the talk show circuit to garner interest in The Tempest for Oscar consideration.
There was a fight scene between Arachne and Spidey at the end on Wednesday night when I saw it. Granted, it wasn't very good (Arachne got caught in the web once during the "interrogation," so the entire fight I was expecting her to get tangled), but it was there.
The show should definitely end with him swinging throughout the theater again. After MJ says "go get 'em, Tiger," he should pose, the lights on the stage should go down, and Spider-Man should swing from the balcony or something around the theater for a little. At least leave the audience with a memorable final image. The ending of the show does fall flat, but so does the entire 2 hours and 49 minutes proceeding it. Fixing the end is the least of their worries, but it couldn't hurt.

I thought T.V. was great. I was really looking forward to seeing her because of how much I enjoyed her performance in "Across The Universe". I still wish I could have seen Natalie Mendoza's performance after hearing her voice on the recordings. Reeve and Jenn are definitely the stars of the show. I agree, the book needs serious help. Almost all of the Jameson one-liners fell flat. Act II was just a downward spiral. If "Deeply Furious" is NOT cut or replaced by another song, I will be pretty surprised. I do really like the score and the visuals are unsurpassed. I do want to see the show again when it's frozen.
It was supposed to be a pm! Anyway she is so intense and tragic. Like an eponine with 6 legs. And her powers are really friggan cool. I just with her pheromone powers worked the only time they were used. I would actually love to see her tinkered with a little and get T.V. nominated for best actress. "Think Again" is awesome as is the idea of Behold and Wonder. God I just wish they could get someone to rewrite a little bit of the lyrics and book.
Spider-man isn't performing again until Wednesday night. Perhaps, with this extended period, we're going to finally see some major changes implemented. I'm curious what the word will be after Wednesday evening's performance.
