hearthemsing22 seems to think the actors have no agency in the matter, which isn’t true. It’s very much up to each actor if they want to stage door or not. Fans aren’t forcing them to stage door and equity/their respective producers aren’t forcing them not to.

Someone on a previous comment once said “we all know you have been”. I’m saying no, I haven’t, so stop saying that. I’m not trying to appear anything. And by the way, if you don’t want me to say anything, don’t provoke me :) or block me :) I can comment here too babes"
Haha, yeah that was me. And I still believe that. Even more so, after this little chat, actually. If you want to come off as innocent, then don't act like a guilty person.
But beyond that, I'm going to take your advice at the end, and not engage with you further. I have better things to do, than squabble with you.
"
Truly pathetic how you’re so convinced I’d lie about something when you know zilch about me. Nah. I haven’t been stagedooring. End of discussion. K? Good :) We both have better things to do :)
I’m well aware of the fact that actors can choose. But if a huge group of people is there, you don’t think that puts pressure on them? You don’t think people will call them out for not being at the stage door which yes-breaking news-has happened.
let’s move on, shall we? Good.

Nah. But, enjoy trying to control people on the interwebs, it is delightfully entertaining.

Omg. Hearthemsing, I don't know how many times you need to hear it but:
Stagedooring (or not stagedooring) isn't some moral litmus test. But if you sleep better at night knowing that you would NEVER, then you do you.

Exactly! Never on here, have I said that you're a terrible person just because I think you've stagedoored at least once since Broadway reopened. I'm not gonna judge a person's entire moral compass, just based on whether or not they've stopped to wave at some actors after a show.
Only you (hearthemsing) do that.

When I first commented this was only directed at the OP. Y’all realllly enjoy provoking people, don’t you? Just be quiet already. Don’t be so dramatic with what I say and spin it a different way. For God sakes you can block me! And I can say this on here. Seriously like don’t you have anything better to do? Leave me alone :) thanks

POTUS stage door people act like no one is going to stage door, then Lea Delaria comes out and does selfies with everyone, as well as engaging and talking to anyone who wants to. Vanessa Williams does masked photos with whoever asks, as well as Julie White. Rachel Dratch bolts off. Julianne Hough does photos with whoever asks. The "theater" of no stage dooring allowed is just theater, as the actors do whatever they feel safe doing.

Curious if Billy Crystal is. Didn't strike me as someone who would being in the business for so long.
But I can imagine the dealers were out there.

I have seen stage door pictures with Billy Crystal.

Nice of Billy. I've seen dealers "go after" Lin Manuel.
And they were the same crowd trying to get near Patti L's limo on her last day.

I don’t think she has in the Company/COVID era, but she did so quite often in the Before Times, especially if the crowd wasn’t super big or obnoxious.
She’s also VERY responsive by mail - and quick.

If I had people arranging signed playbills for me that I could pick up at my leisure, I wouldn't feel a need to stage door either.
I haven't stage doored since Broadway reopened at any of the 15 or so Broadway shows I've seen and frankly even before Covid, I only did it sporadically if it was a performer I particularly liked, but I will likely restart doing it selectively and masked on my next trip if it's an actor or actress I'm fond of. And if they sign, great. If they don't, totally cool with that. Bottom line, everyone, actors and fans should do only what they're comfortable doing with no judgment placed on them even if that is nothing at all.

I recall Patti being extremely gracious at the MASTER CLASS stage door.

She was lovely and gracious at the War Paint stage door, staying and signing autographs and having real conversations with the dozen or so people who waited for her. (It was a terrible show, and she spent at least 45 minutes backstage afterwards, so it was a small crowd.)

Yes, indeed WAR PAINT was a horrible show and the seats in that theater are really uncomfortable.

Sat matinee, walked by Woods. Crowds dozen deep at SD. Saw Gaven Creel come out, smile, waved, the put on his mask and headed down street for his lunch, I guess. Saw another cast member open door, wave, and went back in.
Bareillis, D'arcy, Henry, Soo, Patina, Creel, etc.. Great cast which explains the SD crowds.
Do or did any of them SD during their run?

It’s hard to say. I saw the walk-and-wave being done along with some distance selfies (masked) but somehow people are obtaining signed playbills from them. (I mailed mine in to no avail so far)

Who would oversee taking care of the mail-in requests? Stage manager?
Too bad you didn't get a reply.

Most likely the SM
Usually requests take a few weeks anyway, and I’m away in Spain until the 10th so who knows? I might have a surprise when I get back home and all my mail drops in lol

It seems like, at this point, no one is enforcing any sort of ban on stage dooring and it's just up to the actors, which is I think it should be. No pressure to do it, but allowed to you if you want to.
I saw the Funny Girl matinee yesterday and stage doored and it was a mixed bag. It was a two-show day, so I'm some of them just wanted to get their dinner (or whatever they needed to do during the break) and get back to the theatre, but some stayed. Most of the supporting cast and resemble wanted to get out, but some stayed and chatted.
Of the main 4, Liz McCartney just waved and then left, Jeremiah James (who was in for Ramin) signed a bit and then talked to one person for a while and then left, Jared Grimes stayed for a bit and signed and chatted, and Julie was a total stage-dooring pro. She came out with an N95 on and her own sharpie and signed and took masked selfies for EVERYONE who was there. She just worked her way around the barricade. She was super sweet to everyone too!

I can only think of two ways that they would have obtained the full signed playbills.
1. they sent a donation.
2. they’re someone who completely disregarded the stagedoor rules and hung around at almost all times to find these performers to sign the playbills.
But those are just my thoughts.
