TheSassySam - I would think it's going to depend whether discounts continue... Ticket sales have definitely improved as previews approach - and should the reviews and word of mouth pick up, I doubt that they will. In fact it seems they're counting on that
In the London revival, The Perfect Year costume was the same as the original. THIS costume, I think the same original she wears in a very short scene while Joe is writing the script ("Put it back!", which she never wore in the recent London production. Until The Perfect Year scene, she wears the first costume which is essentially her pajama and a silk robe.
Better late than ever...now people know about the show and are buying tickets again.
"People have their opinions and that doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong or right. I just take it with a grain of salt because opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one".

Is there any chance they record this? I don't know if I'll have a chance to see it but it would be great to hear that large orchestra playing the score
littlemouse -when this was done in London, I remember reading they had a Q & A with the Director and they had said back then it was going to be recorded with the ENO orchestra. When that never materialized, I wasn't sure if they had recorded it and wanted to wait till after it opened here to release it - or had they changed plans on that and didn't record it (remember mid-way through the run, Close got sick and missed about 4 performances)
I have to think the ALW loves having his scores with a huge orchestra (for example Phantom anniversary) preserved. But that doesn't necessarily mean it makes financial sense - so who knows
I sure hope the Palace comes out with a better marquee after the renovations. You can't really tell what's playing there - Sunset? Bronx Tale? or Kinky Boots? I'm sure many don't know that there's even a Broadway theatre hidden behind all that signage.
I'm very excited for tomorrow - surprising my partner with tickets, 4th row mezzanine. He is a massive fan of the show (as am I) and has been humming parts of the score since I told him they are bringing it back. It will be an early anniversary/Valentine's Day gif since I have to work a 12hr shift on the 14th.
I'm also a big fan of Judy Garland, so I'm thrilled to see a show at the Palace. This will be my first time in there!
Um. I just tried to buy tickets for May 20th through the show's website and I got this message: "You don't have permission to access /sunset-boulevard-ny-new-york-new-york-05-20-2017/event/0300514BE2A28EFE on this server." Has this happened to anyone else?
