Confirmed: THE FEAR OF 13 with Adrien Brody & Tessa Thompson opening March 2026

Saw on Instagram a picture of Adrien Brody’s mugshot on an electric box in Midtown, with a QR that leads to 748days.com. Not sure if this is a sign of anything, but the announcement is supposed to come at 10am tomorrow.

The website had a countdown clock expiring at 5am. It's been changed to now expire at 10am.  All on January 13

Interestingly, David Cromer is directing this, not Justin Martin from the Donmar production. Cromer seems a good fit for this on paper, as a lot of his shows deal with the dark underbelly of American life.

Opening night is April 15, Telecharge presale begins January 20, and general onsale begins January 23.

Lead producers are Seaview, Wessex Grove, and Gavin Kalin Productions.

It appears to have been a cover URL for the actual website - thefearof13broadway.com

Though if I had to roughly guess based on the timeline of Yarris’ story, it might the amount of time from when he sought out DNA testing in his case to when he was freed.

This also makes Cromer now the third director this season to have two Broadway openings (the others being Joe Mantello & Michael Arden) and Lindsey Ferrentino to be the only playwright/book writer with two this season

I believe this *should* do it for new production announcements for this 2025-26 Broadway season, as every house is now occupied in the spring.

I've been wondering about that. Trying to plan out a spring trip and worried more shows might pop up and I may not leave room for them.

Yeah, unless something unexpectedly closes and another slips in, this should do it. 

A sorry state of affairs for new musicals, but at least we have an embarrassment of riches for plays.

I'm here for the Tessa appreciation club. Saw her in Hedda and she was phenomenal. Hope prices aren't too ridiculous. Saw Giant prices were pretty reasonable.
