Good season for Lindsey Ferrentino

I don't think anybody who worked on QoV can claim it's a good season for themselves.

That would require Just in Time to close.

Exactly. If anything, this is a potential redemption arc for her, but also I have a feeling critics are going to hold this up side by side to QOV, as this is also a documentary adaptation.

She's escaped again, your honor!

Exactly. His embarrassing Oscar speech (longest in history) where he talked about how Harvey Weinstein's kids saved him for 7 minutes? He held everyone in that auditorium hostage with his bloated ego and over inflated sense of self. Happy to skip this but Tessa is a huge get.
The plays are stacked this season, but I'm still hoping there is some secret musical they have not announced yet. But I guess in a season of Titanique and Schmigadoon! asking people to spend $300 and up on seats, there will be no fun surprise :(

Hahaha. The guy gives a long speech at an awards show and he’s on your sh*t list for life? Wow.
I’ll happily get a ticket and enjoy what should be a tremendous production.

The theaters are all booked. The only way there would be something else is if the funding falls through for one of these announced productions. I'm most disappointed in Gun & Powder that could have come in this season as they announced, secured a theater, but held off for whatever reason. They would win Best Musical easily.

Bummer. Is that still the name of that production? I thought they changed it but I could be wrong.

Didn't they change it to Wanted?

Me thinks the looming lawsuit had something to do with scaring the investors off of this one

Me thinks the expensive and mixed reaction workshop scared off investors. They have a theater for fall if they can raise the money.
It looks like Renee filed a notice of voluntary dismissal for that suit back in September. Considering it was on shaky grounds, it's possible the reason she filed the suit at all was to throw wrench in the works.

Presale is on now with code AMEX13. Prices aren’t insane compared to other recent star-driven plays; I got a pair in side orchestra Row G for $176 each including fees. Balcony is $84-$125. I’m not a huge Brody fan but Thompson makes this one a must for me.

Grabbed two in the balcony on the aisle for a performance in May. Should be really good. Very intrigued by the reviews I read for the London run.

It will be funny when John Lithgow wins again against Brody AND Strong.

I am thinking that Best Actor in a Play may be among the MOST COMPETITIVE categories in Tony history. Forgive the hyperbole, I think I am only slightly exaggerating. Three have already received incredible reviews for their performances in London, so they would seem like no-brainers. Add to that Radcliffe, Cheadle, and Lane, and whoever is in the Pacino role in DDA and that is an impressive list. Of course, Radcliffe could be miscast, Lane could be miscast, DDA could suck, and Cheadle could be relegated to supporting. Even so, it will still be an impressive category.

Nathan lane will be a strong contender. But also those guys in Dog Day Afternoon as well.
