Larkin posted on her Instagram that she's going on again tonight, so I assume it'll be her all week.

Big cast change coming in August. Columbia will be a Drag Race queen, starting soon. I don’t have any additional details, sadly.

Its Plasma isn't it? Or Marcia? They're both NYC Locals.

I mentioned this before, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Luke decided to extend, but on the provision he would be off a few weeks in the summer (he has a summer home in Ibiza), and so another Frank can come in as a “trial run” to be the future replacement when Evans departs for good.

I know Jinkx Monsoon has had her eyes on this production and has the relationship with Pinkleton to get in, but it wouldn’t be until after she finishes in Oh Mary on the West End. If that happens, she’ll be the hardest working drag queen on Broadway.

So the Columbia u/s will just rotate until then? That's a large gap

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Suzie Toot is touring until the end of July, so it is likely not her.

Columbia is a light enough lift of a role that any number of queens could do it. I wouldn't be shocked if it was someone like Plasma, though.

New Columbia will be starting sooner. Next couple weeks, I think, but it all came together fast (which is why Columbia isn’t even a listed character in the Playbill currently; the time needed for coverage is up in the air). More cast members are leaving in August, but not sure who exactly, just that it’s plural. I don’t have any other details because it was brought up in passing at Pride and I stupidly did not pry further.

Can say with a good degree of certainty that it's not Alaska. And Jinkx goes into Oh, Mary in London next month, so that wouldn't make sense.

I'm charmed by the idea of Suzie Toot doing it, though it's mentioned above that she has tour dates. Onya Nurve could also be a delight.

Caleb Quezon was on as Columbia last night and I thought they were great! Sung most of their part down the octave but had some killer belty-mixing to boot. Can only echo what has been said about Sherie: she's a marvel. In a perfect world Luke Evans would have tied with Joshua Henry he was sensational. As a whole I adored this production, I love that it felt like someone of the modern queer counter-culture (despite being a bit theater-kid nerdy) bringing Rocky (a show that we forget how transgressive and underground it is due to its cultural ubiquity) into the modern age. I mean, Frank licking Rocky's armpit?? There was someone smart behind the wheel. Hsu amazing, Durand doing good work in a bit of thankless role. Had such a great time and the audience was absolutely eating it up. There were some obnoxious callouts in the beginning by one man in the balcony but luckily those petered out for the most part post Sweet Transvestite. Will def be trying to see again!

According to the Playbill, Caleb (Star) Quezon is officially the Columbia for now.

I was gonna say, isn't it an AEA issue to not have someone listed for the role in the playbill as was alluded to earlier?

(Second) Intermission here:

The show stopped just after “Eddie” and they took everyone off stage, but apparently Amber Gray had, in the words of the Narrator, “Riffed her Raff” and, in about 20 minutes, was replaced by Andres Quintero for the last song of Act I. Right before curtain went back up, Rachel came out and informed us of what happened (in character).

Luke came out of the bathroom and ad-libbed - “Sorry! It took a loooong time to kill him”.

I hope Amber is okay

I was there as well. Usually I’ll be disappointed (though of course will not fault Amber and I hope she is ok) but I loved Andres Quintero’s performance as RiffRaff! Has he understudied the role before? He fit into the character and cast seamlessly. I am very impressed and pleasantly surprised.

it’s my first time seeing the show and I can’t stop smiling all throughout. Luke Evans was truly magnificent in the role and really made it his own. Tim Curry would be proud! I really wish they made Caleb Quezon the official Columbia cause they killed that role! I mean at least feature them in the website cast list!

Sherri got a lot of cheer and rightfully so as she was so funny and that voice- so beautiful! Stephanie Hsu really deserved that Tony nomination! She was sublime as well. Overall I great night out! Can’t wait to be back and check on the new cast next month. Filling Luke Evans big jockstraps would be difficult I wonder who can replace him. Catch him before he leaves!

If the new Columbia isn't starting until sometime in August, then they have to officially list someone as Columbia. Caleb & Larkin might be rotating in the role until then.

Interesting that they had a week where Columbia wasn’t even listed in the Playbill, and now Caleb has temporarily been bumped up from Phantom. Makes me wonder if the show tried to skirt around contract end and start dates and got slapped by AEA. Regardless, the company managers over there must be losing their minds dealing with all of this.

Going point by point:

1) It was actually Andre’s’ debut as Riff Raff. He’s covered the Narrator and Eddie/Dr. Scott a few times. It was pretty seamless and I loved how he sang the final song with a similar intonation as Richard O’Brien. He got some rapturous applause at curtain call which was well deserved.

2) Luke continues to impress me with his complete and utter commitment to the chaos of this role and relishes every moment. NOTHING is held back and the audience can sense he is having the time of his life. To think he had his naysayers when he was cast, but mostly now I just hear people just making negative comparisons to Tim Curry on the basis of…him not being Tim Curry. Having seen Star (Caleb) and Larkin - both could go right into the role and bring their own distinct essence while honoring the material and the vision. Larkin is the typical manic pixie dream girl, while Star brings some fun genderf**k moments.

3) Sherie came out guns blazing on her first show and only has gotten better. She and Jane Krakowski are the same caliber of “comically bubbleheaded MILF” that fit perfecfly into these weird roles and the renaissance she is having is sublime.. Vocally, with what little Magenta does sing, she rocks out, and her character work (including the shuffling gait) works so well. I also have to say that Hsu is also really just hitting every funny button at her disposal and it just makes more clear why she got Tony nominated. (Of the bunch, I honestly would’ve voted for her.) Dratch has also won me over a LOT. She is committed to the bit from start to finish, even during the stopdown as I mentioned before. It was comic genius.

I honestly could see this a bunch more times

Also, at the stage door, Josh mentioned nobody in the cast had any idea what was going on in that moment and had thought the same as my friend and I did - that either Harvey or Luke had slipped and ate it while running into the bathroom.

Turns out that Amber, in a moment where she is trying to block Josh from trying to save Harvey, grabbed his shoulders to stabilize and then headed off stage. It all happened so quickly that everyone in the cast was thrown off

You do mean "Whatever Happened to Saturday Night" not the song "Eddie" (or, sometimes, "Eddie's Teddy")?

Yes. The former. “Hot Patootie (Bless My Soul)”

I’m liking this a lot more than the first time. Larkin Reilly should be promoted to full-time as Columbia. What a presence on stage. Luke Evans remains dynamite (the 3-second delay on that jock is the best performance of the year). The audience is eating it up.
"

Larkin is fantastic in everything I've ever seen her in - and she fits the role perfectly. I also saw her when she was a swing in Just in Time and was on for Sandra Dee - she was phenomenal. They don't need to stunt cast this role and having someone play it who can actually tap dance makes much more sense.
