The show's casting just keeps getting better with the departures. Hopeful we will get a great Columbia opposite Sherie.

Unless this is an unusual arrangement, when a nonprofit show extends, the show is still very much produced by the nonprofit, the contracts have just switched over to a Broadway League one instead of a nonprofit LORT contract. So the cast is no longer Most Favored Nations at Roundabout's LORT scale. Usually, commercial producers who provide enhancement money (The Dodgers and Trafalgar Entertainment) would now get a % of the gross each week too.

yeah, it seems like MJ was only scheduled through June 21. But no farewell announcement from the show and nobody knows who the replacement is.

You are probably correct, although when I was trying to exchange my HIPTIX for the cancelled performance on 6/13, the lady said “Yeah, Roundabout isn’t the main producer anymore so they aren’t doing it” so maybe I was mistaken

If Roundabout is no longer producing it, does that play into why there is no cast recording yet? If/when they produce it, will that be the decision of the new lead producers?

Did Michaela Jae perform yesterday? If the 21st was always her scheduled departure date, it's very odd that it wasn't announced in advance and there doesn't seem to be a replacement lined up. It's particularly strange when you consider her primary understudy is also covering the Magenta track until Sherie starts later this week. I know MJ missed

Given the very sudden, sort of unceremonious departures of Juliette and Michaela Jay, I think it’s pretty safe to say the production wasn’t totally prepared for them to leave when they did. If so, it seems odd their contracts would have been up in the air until the last minute such that they don’t even have an announced replacement lined up for one of them.
Also, unless they already secretly recorded the cast album, unlikely we’ll get one at this point. Not that anyone would want to listen to Juliette, Michaela, or Harvey screech their way through their songs.

So we purchased tickets a while back for the end of August. Hoping to see Juliette and Luke and the rest of the cast. How do they handle if they do a cast change? We are in IN and it’s not like we can just come sooner to catch them. Will they refund us if Luke and the rest depart?

Contact your point of sale. There was never a guarantee they’d be with the production past the initial closing date, so probably not a lot the box office can do, but they’ll know better than anyone here.

It doesn't look like any of the cast is "above the title," so they likely won't refund if a cast member is out. But someone else might have more info.

Thanks all. I kinda figured, but thought I’d get opinions. We will still enjoy it.

Yeah this is bizarre. Sure, the initial run was until June 21. But them not publicly saying when a cast change has happened until after the fact seems more like they weren't expecting it. Perhaps negotiations were still ongoing with MJ?
Personally I'm finally seeing it Thursday and annoyed I'm missing people I was interested in seeing.

I was at the 4pm show yesterday and Michaela Jaé did perform, but there was no announcement or recognition that I heard.

I was at yesterday’s performance. I really love MJ and I’m glad I just missed missing her Broadway debut. I was impressed by her work and the whole show.
That said, there really is something genuinely offputting and lacking in class about how this casting business has been executed.
While it may be true that the stars are not above the title and people are not technically entitled to refunds, I recall that the first advertisement had all their faces on it. It was very clear that the cast was a major selling point.
There’s something simply lacking in decorum to market a show this way from the get-go and then treat the casting with such limp-twisted frivolousness.
Decades ago, this would’ve been considered scandalous.
It smacks of a lack of professionalism to say the least.
Bottom line, people bought tickets expecting to see certain performers for a reason.
At yesterday‘s curtain call, my partner noticed that the cast did not hold hands for the final bow. Perhaps this just has not been a happy experience for some or many involved. The most important thing is if that’s so it did not translate to the stage. I thought it was marvelously entertaining.

That's simply not true. The Roundabout officially announced The Rocky Horror Show on March 6, 2025 as part of their 2025–2026 season lineup. Then it wasn't announced until October 2025 that Luke Evans would star, and the rest of the cast was officially announced on January 29, 2026.

Then my first recollection of hearing about this means I was late to the party about finding out about this production. Thank you for the dates.
My larger point is that a *lot* of people bought tickets based upon that art pop-esquire advertisement, where you see all the faces of the cast. I think there’s something lacking in finesse, to say the least, to have marketed the show this way and then to have such haphazard casting issues follow. It plays fast and loose with the audience’s expectations, whether the names are above or below the title.
Of course, this property sells itself regardless of who’s in the cast.

We get that they don’t have to tell us nor issue refunds, but it’s wildly disingenuous to say that if you buy a ticket for two days from now, you don’t expect to see the same cast that’s announced and played yesterday.
Or that you should go back to an announcement from many months ago and memorize what the original closing date was.
There’s a reason why it’s not usually done like this.

I don’t see what the big deal is. MJ finished the initial run as scheduled, and Juliette finished a week early likely due to strain.
By Broadway standards, this is still very much a "new" show at the beginning of its run. "Replacement" announcements would take the gloss off, which is not worth it for B characters that casual goers won’t care about.
What’s haphazard to me is imagining friction based on something as small as the cast not holding hands at the curtain call.

I went back and looked at some videos of their curtain calls and they didn't hold hands in any of them. Not sure if they have at some performances but it looks like that is just how the curtain call is done. I could be wrong though.

Weird take considering, Frank aside, this is pretty much an ensemble piece. Also considering the particular following for this show, where each character has his/her own following.

MJ was just tagged in an IG story from @sterlingtullNYC that mentioned 'first day on set with @Voguemagazine'......

Shrug. I think their unprepared-ness for the audience heckling showed this was never aimed at Rocky Horror diehards… more a broader audience.

They weren't unprepared. There was even a prepared statement that did not discourage participation, while at the same time wanting "virgins" to feel welcome.

Has Caleb Quezon been on for Columbia yet? Larkin Reily has?
They must be rehearsing a new Columbia this week with Sherie (new Magenta in the show Friday).
