I hope this happens. I saw it in London last month, and while I wasn't a fan of both Phyllida Lloyd's choices, or the British ensemble, who didn't quite get the correct feel for the time period and location, It has very good potential. It's a color by number Bio-musical, But Tina Turner's story is SO dramatic, it was only a time before they put it on stage. The book is solid as well, for a jukebox musical, that is....
But the true and ONLY reason to bring this to broadway is Adrienne Warren. Whatever season it lands in, the Tony is hers to lose. Her performance and stamina in the role are incredible. I hope this show will finally make her the star she deserves to become.

It's playing in a Nederlander-owned theatre in London, so the big question is, which Nederlander-owned theatre here gets the boot to make room for it next year?

Why not put a sure-fire hit in the namesake theater? I love the Nederlander. It's a gorgeous theater and just the right size for a show. I think going the Book of Mormon route is smart - smaller theater, sell-out, etc.

Maybe it's me, but, isn't it a tad premature to suggest Tina head to the Nederlander when Pretty Woman hasn't even started previews yet. And, Yes, I am well aware that many on here think that Pretty Woman doesn't stand a chance. But, who can ever tell. there've been plenty of shows that folks on here think will tank that have had decent runs.
In any event, The Nederlander is too small for this show. Just to put things in perspective the theatre in London that it's playing in was home to both Beautiful and Dirty Dancing. Both shows that needed space for larger sets. Not really something that the Nederlaner can hold, but the Marquis sure could.

Marquis is huge 1611 seats
I say the Nederlander fall '19 it seats 1232 similar to the Aldwych in the UK 1200 seats

Neither of those shows have giant sets in regards to moving set pieces that go on and off. Most of their set is on stage and just moves around. I haven't seen Tina, so can't speak to it's technical difficulties. And I don't know the wing space at any of the theaters, so can't speak to that either. I'd just think they'd want to put a sure-fire hit into one of their least desirable theaters.
Although, I did notice that they gave the Nederlander LED marquees.

Of the three, it would be my first choice, but if it comes in last, I wonder if there’s potential for such a thing as diva fatigue!

Maybe so, and London is a different beast, but if it gets the reviews it did here that it did there, then yeah, I think it's a hit.
