Also, maybe MTI should just record Michael-Leon Wooley doing the Audrey II vocal parts and liscence it to schools so we don't have to be subjected to 12-year-old white boys trying to sing "Suppertime".

Since we occasionally post GOOD productions on here, here's a really interesting and not that bad production of Pippin, which is consistently ruined by high schools. They miss the point - Pippin is raw, sexual, dark, Fosse. This school gets it.

I rcently sat through a middle school production called ANNIE JUNIOR. It was horrendous beyond words--Sandy was played by a 6th grade girl. I wanted to leave but I was with the parents of one of the stars.

my PA showed me this thread.....and i joined this site just to respond......who are these people?.....high school theatre is a learning experience for everyone from the actors to the back stage crew.....the commentors (for the most part) seem to be very mean spirited......either very immature high school age people, who maybe have no right to be so evil.....or want to be actors,who think they know everything.....Kiddies, I have been working in the NY theatre since 1961, when I was a 17 year old replacement on Broadway in "

Madscientist-- OH MY GOSH. What is that? I am so confused! Why does he not start singing until 3:38... in English? I like his costume, though. I love how NINE people have rated it with five stars.

Pianolin-- That singing is dreadful... but at least they're energetic. Plus, Audrey's not bad and Seymour would stink in any role other than Seymour, but he kind of works for this one.

EDIT: Rewatched. I'm changing 'dreadful' to 'mind-blowingly dreadful.'

I really hope she wasnt in high school... i dont know how i would feel if my daughters high school was going to do rent and she was Mimi and was humping a poll and grunting haha (not that i have a kid, just saying) It felt wrong for me to be watching that! And the "makeout" at the end a little odd looking!?
Overall though i didnt think she was that bad!

I know! I can't get over that either! they must have been people in the cast who gave it good ratings! I do agree the costumes were awesome, but I'm not sure What the heck that was!
