So I'm brand new here but after registering this was the first thread I knew I had to come to. I'm completely addicted to this musical after watching the Tonys on Sunday. Luckily my parents got me interested in musicals from an early age, but In the Heights has taken that enthusiasm through the roof! I can't stop listening to the album and I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying that come Fall break in mid-October I can make it up to NYC and see it myself before the OBC leaves. I'm a southern boy and love it, but these are the times I wish NC were not so far away because it's been 3 yrs since my last visit.
Anyways, assuming it works out, do yall have any suggestions as far as seating (mez or orchestra)? Also is there anything else I oughta know about going on in the city around that time (last time we were lucky enough to catch the Gates exhibit and Chinese New Year) but I'm always excited to explore the city and see what's up.
Ever seat in that theater is amazing with this show. The back of the orchestra is he worst though. I had front row mezz seats the other night and they were fantastic and they were all the way to the side. Lotto seats are great but I think the best seats I have had are row G orchestra! They were amazing but if you are aiming towards cheap go for the rear mezz. I was walking in the Mezz and looked at the view from rear mezz and it was fantastic!
The show is just so much fun right now !!! Such a buzz outside the theatre, and you can see the cast feeding off the energy inside. Lin sounded amazing tonight, and added a little wrinkle (seems like everyone adding little bits and pieces here and there) during "It Wont Be Long Now"- a little "robot" dance right before "No Para...."
I've got to see this show again. It's been too long.
Would I have a shot at standing room for the WEdnesday mat? I only ask because I have a very strong feeling I will lose lotto again.

Ummm off the top of my head I definitely say skip "Paciencia y Fe" even though I love that song.

Since I didn't see it posted, BroadwayUnderstudies has Doreen listed as Daniela for next Monday (6/30), as does her facebook group.

Basically the whole cd has plot issues in it but if your like me and can't enjoy the show unless you know what is going to happen next [or what is eventually going to happen] it doesn't matter. I listed to the obcr before I went. I still loved it even more!
You shold skip "Hundreds of Stories" also. I hope the rest of the album is enough to tide you over until you see it, and, when you do, we want a review.
Wow... it's like I am a Lin-inn-training.
Speaking of rhyming, part of what makes me love Lin the most is the way he rhymes words. What are your favorite rhymes in ITH?
I love ...eyes on the horizon ...maxipads...taxi cabs and millions more to come
I'm really starting to fall hard for this show, haven't seen it live yet, but am going end of July, do you think they'll still have rear mezz available day of? In case we don't win lotto (which probably we won't, but gotta try right?) All I know is I have to see this show when I'm in NYC hopefully more than once.
You're always sorry,
You're always grateful,
You hold her, thinking:
"I'm not alone."
You're still alone.

No, they will not have the rear mezz seats day of. They didn't really have them pre tons so they won't now. It's been sold out so I would get them ahead of time.
Hi I am making an In The Heights fan site and was wondering if I could use some of the posts on here as quotes and reviews. Like I would say... "bsadasdsad" -Drunk Chita Rivera from the Broadway World Boards.
When I start getting the site running I will post it.
