Picked up a pair of tickets for the Cher Show for Friday the 22nd (my mom and I have been entering the lottery occasionally, but when I saw a Friday we grabbed them). Anyone get Cher tickets the first time they were up and can share where their seats were?

We saw Phantom recently, and TDF put us in the middle of the mezzanine, on the right, but we LOVED every minute. There isn't a bad seat in the house, IMHO. I hadn't seen the show in years, and it is still fresh. I hate to gush, but...GO
Has anyone seen The Prom recently through TDF? Going Wednesday and am curious if they are actually in the balcony and if so, wondering how the view/leg room is.
Grabbed seats for Cher yesterday but just read on the other message board Block is out.
LIVID.
And while I was initially mad at TDF, when I went to the Cher website, I couldn't find that info anywhere on their ticket page either.
So infuriating. It's one thing is someone happens to be out, but quite another when you aren't told you're buying a ticket when the star is on a scheduled vacation.

I understand your frustration and I understand the frustration that the CHER website didn't have info on a scheduled absence. However, if TDF had to keep with all that info for every show on their page, it would be a nightmare .
Is there any sort of pattern to when new shows/dates are posted? Do they post on certain days or at certain times? I'm sure this has been asked a lot but I went back several pages and didn't see anything. Thanks!
There really is no rule of thumb that I have observed.
For shows that haven't started previews yet, producers may release availability to TDF if tickets are not selling as expected.
You can look at Telecharge to get an idea of how many seats are left for a particular performance, but that's not foolproof because some unsold seats may be held back for a variety of reasons. If you look on Telecharge, those seats will appear to be sold.
Once a Broadway show opens, you can look at the grosses. The higher the grosses, the less likely it will be on TDF.
Off Broadway it is hard because the grosses aren't made public. In my experience, most Off Broadway shows will appear on TDF. Of course if a show is hot and selling really well, producers don't need to list on TDF.
If a show opens and gets poor reviews, it is more likely to show up on TDF right afterward.
Plays are more likely to show up than musicals.
I would recommend taking a chance on shows on TDF in early previews!

Generally 4-10 days out is a safe bet, but it completely depends on the show –– the producers control the inventory.
For a show that's not selling well (like Gettin the Band or Head Over Heels), they had almost every performance listed for a few weeks at a time. Something like Come From Away usually only lists a few weekday dates at a time, and they go quickly. I've bought tickets to new plays that list their dates almost a month out.
