I stage manage.
Sometimes, just for kicks, I laugh at the actors.
But hey, if I didn't, I would lose focus and quite possibly forget a light cue...Now, imagine singing your 11 o'clock in the dark.

musicians, like actors...
are at an advantage in a business filled with gay men and horny women....
most men are into quantity until they reach a certain level of maturity - and the one's who know they have "the power"... will take advantage of it...
but hey - it's no different for women if they are smart. remember there is a BIG difference between lust and love - they are not mutually inclusive by any stretch of the imagination...
learn to tell the difference early and make your decisions accordingly and with sense. in the end you should have nothing to regret.
OH?
Well that'd be great I respect and admire pit players so much...but there's kind of a problem that I'm so much in awe of them I can't exactly get words out. I think the best was visiting a friend backstage at Sweeney, Michael Cerveris came down and I told him good job chatted a bit but then the clarinetist(I play clarinet) who played the beggar woman came down and she was sooo great on clarinet some parts were so hard and I just kinda like made a like OMG noise and just kinda watched her leave and couldn't say a word.
Though Buffy may not agree, ppl are probably more interested in someone that can talk.
Wicked...
It's always great to have a good pit....especially when performers flake!
Of course, we had one night when we had to start "Columbia the Gem of the Ocean" ourselves, because the conductor flaked...LOL
i've never had a problem with dating a musician, hmmmm, maybe thats cause im one too?
or at least try to be one...

I am guilty of falling for musicians...my rule of thumb is none of the people whose instruments are kind of lesser known because they secretly all crave attention. I am always falling for the pale dark shaggy haired guitarist. As a matter of fact, I met one today! :)

Thanks, Fredi! That makes me feel better. :) You never really hear about professional tech people... But you know they have to exist! And I certainly wouldn't mind working on one show for a long time. I tend to get really attached to whatever I'm working on.
I wish I lived in NY.
Thats it. I'm leaving Maryland!
BSo, most of the time actors in shows I did were cool but like this past summer theatre I interned at...it was kinda impossible to not laugh at some of the actors...they went up to my friend who played flute and was like ohh flute and started imitating flute playing...it was...weird.

Goodnight Fredi. Great to hear from you as usual.
Fredi - moviefone and fandango all have movie listings up until 12/15, which means tomorrow they should have times up for 12/16.
Heh that's always fun Wendy. Once during Once On This Island, my first year in pit, there was a very poignant moment at the end of the show, where Ti Moune sees her love one last time and you find out he just gave her a coin and then she essentially dies...during this whole thing, there's a beautiful clarinet solo I got to play(I love Flaherty...) but before that, we were on a vamp(repeating the same couple of measures). And I knew when we were supposed to leave the vamp, but our conductor kept screaming 22 which was the vamp so we kept vamping almost up until the solo was supposed to start. Finally he realized he was calling out the wrong number and was like oh ****, I mean 24! So ti Moune hit the floor just as I started the solo...kinda lost the impact and the actors kinda waited for me to finish...oh well, not my fault.
