"Emma's little "Huh huh huh (?)" or whatever Elle says sounds like the sound effects in a fighting video game."
I noticed that myself

Posted: 6/30/08 at 11:10pmLike Emma or not, Paul's comment about it being too late to call out was so silly. It's one thing to have a cold and another thing entirely to have bronchitis. And I've seen performers call out during a show when they couldn't continue. There's rarely such a thing as too late given how most shows double or triple up on understudies for major roles.

Okay, finished watching the performances. I think that Bailey, Lauren, and Natalie were the best.
I think Rhiannon's problems are her facial expressions while she's dancing. Can't that be fixed in rehearsals?

totally agree with whatever judge said they kept on looking at Bailey when someone else was playing Elle.
I started watching Autumns full audition and my eyes started to stray to the right and watch Bailey

Let's face it, she was bad even before the supposed bronchitis. I rewatched her "So Much Better" the other day and her acting during it was just terrible.
Well, not even acting. Just the way she performed it. It was... weird. And her singing wasn't good enough to make up for that just plain confusing performance.

I created a new thread for people to discuss spoilers in, since some people didn't want them in this thread...

Posted: 6/30/08 at 11:18pmSoooo glad Emma is gone. She was so two faced it wasn't even funny. To the girls and the judges she pretended that she was so nice and that she supported the other girls and she had so many excuses as to why her performances weren't up to par. But as soon as she was one on one with the camera she would talk so badly about them. Not once have I ever heard anyone talk about another actress in this competition as I have heard Emma talk about the others. She also had so many excuses as to why her performances weren't up to par, maybe it was because daddy wasn't casting it. Its just not right. Well it looks like your 2nd time trying out for Elle was another failure. Maybe 3rd times a charm but lets not try it again....Kay!!!

"I think Rhiannon's problems are her facial expressions while she's dancing. Can't that be fixed in rehearsals?"
Rhiannon's legs are very long and, to me, she seemed very "leggy" when she dances and it was accentuated by the colorful, tight pants she was wearing. It might be less noticeable in blue jeans that don't draw your eye the way her pants did.

Interesting. That could be another problem as well.
PlayhouseBeauty: Wait, she tried out the first time?

The only thing I never liked Emma was her complete and total lack of enunciation when she sings...well...that, and the face she makes when she belts. She's no Elle Woods (she comes off way too serious for it) but I think she's fantastic.
I'm not even a huge fan of Emma, my favorite has always been Natalie. I think she's adorable and tonight made me like her even more. Her little "Let's work it!" or whatever she said was too cute.
Also, I think some of you guys are being ridiculously harsh throwing around all these "bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch" comments. There's being catty, and there's just downright hateful and some of these posts are falling into the latter category.

If anyone subjects themselves to a second viewing of this episode, might I suggest the Emma drinking game? A shot for every time she says the word "bronchitis". 2 shots if she says the whole phrase "I have bronchitis". I hated Emma and I'm glad she's out of the running, but I will kind of miss seeing her on the show. It was fun watching her look like a bitch.
Remember back in the first episode or 2 when Lauren kept saying she wasn't there to make friends and it kind of looked like they were setting her up to be the bitch? We don't see much of that Lauren anymore. Meanwhile, lately we get at least 1 bitchy comment an episode from Bailey. I wonder if this editing twist means anything.

thejcm: Sorry, I call 'em like I see 'em.
madame_no: Ooh, let's add one for when she talks about how she knows she'll be on the list and how she knows that she's a lot more talented than the other girls.

THANK GOD Autumn stayed. I think she's so talented, plus I adore her personality. She seems quite Elle-esque, with her kindness. And what she said in front of Emma could be taken as snarky, but what did she have to lose? Emma lacks presence where Autumn sparkles, and she does seem quite genuine. I'm surprised no judges commented on the switcharoo the girls pulled on that challenge...
All these girls left are really talented, but I remember Lauren saying "we all think you need to lose wait" in commercials, so that would make me not want her to win. I don't care if that's out of context, there's no excuse for it.Bailey might be losing points in my book, too. And Rhiannon is adorable.
re: The Search for Elle THOUGHTS!#1221
Posted: 6/30/08 at 11:41pmI'm not judging Lauren until I see that scene in full context.
re: The Search for Elle THOUGHTS!#1222
Posted: 6/30/08 at 11:42pmI actually thought Emma was okay this week. I think it was mostly her comments to the judges that sent her home. I thought she was going to last at least one more week. Who cracked up when Rhiannon started crying when she talked about Lauren's confidence?

"Who cracked up when Rhiannon started crying when she talked about Lauren's confidence?"
I didn't find it funny. I thought it was cute and endearing.
re: The Search for Elle THOUGHTS!#1224
Posted: 6/30/08 at 11:58pmI'll tell you when I cracked up: Emma's face when Rhiannon was safe. She looked at Autumn with such a puzzled expression.
