I don't really care about Haylie saying "Legally Blonde: The Musical". I mostly tune her out but it's the actual name of the show. It says "Legally Blonde: The Musical" on all their promotional items. It's how the producers want it marketed.

We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
I really dislike the casting people, to be honest. Heather Hach doesn't know what the heck she's talking about, Paul Canaan is just like "I'm on Broadway, and YOU'RE NOT," and why isn't Jerry Mitchell there?
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
The judges really need to work on their poker faces.
"My understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer." -- David Mamet on Jeremy Piven's early departure from the cast of Broadway's 'Speed-the-Plow'
I agree Bettyboy and while I've vowed to never watch another episode I couldn't help but comment on something Paul (why oh why is he even there) said. When is it ever "too late" to call out of a show? I've been watching shows where someone else has come on in a role for act2 or even for the next scene. He's not even right, let alone helpful. Poor Heather Hach, what a waste of space.
Yea, Fosterchild, I totally agree with you. There is no question that stage actors work mercilessly and tirelessly and often when sick, but if they cant sing and are too disoriented due to illness to dance, then they do not go on. I tooo have had people leave after Act One, so there it is never too late to call out. Paul was just being argumentative.Plus, Laura Bell has missed plenty of shows, so it does happen. My friend tried to see her 3 times to no avail, and no refunds.
The judges do need to work on their poker faces. Their disgust registers on their faces and they make sour pusses all the time. They are rude. I understand that the "biz" is cutthroat but those judges stink. Also, it is clear the old dude is a perv because he bounces around whenever he sees an Elle he likes and he used the word "sexy" alot last night. He makes me ill.
Heather "Hack" needs to write something of value and then judge others.
Paul has experience but no more than anyone else. He is there for the gay factor.

ATTENTION PRODUCERS OF LEGALLY BLONDE Please close the show tonight and do not re-open until Kate Shindle has rewritten the book. As she proved over tea, she knows the character of Elle a whole hell of a lot better than Heather Hach. People have criticized LBB for playing Elle as a dumb blonde, but i think it is due mostly to Hach's terrible book. It will be hard for the girls to follow Kate's advice, when the book is written opposingly.
I am also surprised that Emma was eliminated. I thought that this show was just a way for her to get her name out, and she would use her smoking is an excuse and drop out. That way she was not eliminated, but she got her name out. Too bad she doesn't have the voice, because I could definately see her playing Vivienne
She could play the role of Vivienne in what life? She is horrible!

-F. Scott Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise
Kate Shindle is divine and I hope she gets an amazing part in a better show soon. The judges do keep alluding to these qualities that Elle needs that are not conveyed in the horrible book. Elle is a dumb blonde who only uses her brains to get her deals on clothes and boys. It is only because of men that she steps outside of her comfort zone. In the end, she ends up with another man. She and her other friends teach other women how to use their T and A to attract attention, and denigrate women who arent like them ie, Vivienne. The book is atrocious and most of Elle's charm is from LBB's interpretation and not what is written on the page.

wicked_beast, I mean her attitude and harshness is somewhat similar to Vivienne's. But as I said she does not have the voice for it...AT ALL. I really just meant her personality is similar, but I can guarantee she will never be playing this part because of the vocal asdpect.
Ohh, I get it. Yes, I agree with you on those aspects.

Does it bother anyone else that during each elimination Haylie needs to show us her math skills EVERY TIME a girl gets sent to the dressing room? Like:
Haylie: "There are only 6 of you left, and only four of you will be on this list meaning two of you will be sent to the casting office" (Send girl in) Haylie: "There are only 5 of you left, and only three of you will be on the list meaning two of you will be sent to the casting office" (Send next girl in) Haylie: "There are only 4 of you left, and only two of you will be on the list meaning two of you will be sent to the casting office"
yes! and i'm glad they finally cut out the long, dramatic pause when Haylie says "The next name on the list is.................................." and she'd say the girl's name like 10 seconds later. It was such a bad edit job. It sounds much better now.
I love how they keep telling Rihannon that she is goofy because have they not seen LBB doing it. She is pretty dorky...ESPECIALLY during the Positive dance...
I agree that Kate Shindle knows Elle a LOT better than Heather Hachs does.
I've said that Elle coming across as stupid isn't fully LBB's fault. The majority is the book's fault. However, I have seen stage Elles who come across as smarter (like Becky Gulsvig).
I think Cassie S. would make a good Vivienne, to be honest.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
I'm curious which Elles Shindle was referring to when she said some have been more successful with the character than others. She's worked with, presumably, all four women who've played the role to date (Laura Bell Bundy, Becky Gulsvig, Haven Burton, and Annaleigh Ashford). Having seen all four, the only one who doesn't come across as a dumb blonde is Becky Gulsvig. The other three all have their talents and charms, but, as others have said, have been done in by Heather Hach's hatchet job book.
"It's just not Elle Woods." "I'm not seeing Elle Woods there." How insightful.
I'm so depressed the Emma Zaks thread for deleted. I had such a great zinger in there! *tear*

I thought Haven came across as intelligent. As much as I adore Annaleigh I have heard that she failed to portray the intelligence that Elle needs to develop and express in the second act.
Other than Becky, Haven was probably the closest. Her Elle, aside from being by far the most well sung, had a nice arc to it. Annaleigh was pretty one-note throughout (which is probably why I loved her Margot so much), LBB had considerable charm and charisma that hid many of the book's problems, and I'm sure she was directed to play a lot of the dumb blonde moments that way, because she comes across in interviews and whatnot as highly intelligent.
SporkGoddess, I suppose you're right, but what's the fun in watching reality TV if we can't judge? But that comment...it's a challenge to think of things that would make them OK to say, but they do exist.
Did anyone look at the pictures of the Vote reading last night? Autumn was in it. Guess we can safely say that she does not win. I mean why would she be in a reading for a show, when she would be playing Elle?
