While I wouldn't want to be compared to a horse it wasn't a bad comparison. A race horse knows when it's race time and when it's practice time and they shine during the race.

We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
I'm okay with the Emma boot. Her problem was not singing or dancing talent - at least what they've shown, she doesn't have a soft side. The judges have commented on it before and even tonite. She can't play the vulnerable Elle - for whatever reason, it is not in her acting chops. Autumn has shown that range - and you can teach dancing.
I don't think Emma has been a bitch - I don't know her personally and I doubt the people calling her a bitch know her either. Instead of saying she gets favors because of her father, it may be that her relationship isn't doing her any good. For whatever reason, while the Zaks name might open a door or two, she hasn't stepped through it, and she's not 20 years old anymore. So, now, people look at her and think "Hmm, Jerry Zaks daughter - doors have opened - but no big roles yet, Must not be too good." And then groupthink sets in. This show was her chance to step out of the groupthink mode - perhaps she thought it was going to be a phonein show ala Grease - and not a Bernie Telsey special.
I've had bronchitis several times in my laugh. I was not coughing every minute. You feel like crap with little energy. I usually had a high fever as well. Emma got diagnosed with bronchitis, and it takes a few days to get over it. This show is boom, boom, boom, day after day. So, I don't think she was lying about her bronchitis.
I think Natalie and Bailey come off the best in the auditions. I also think Autumn would nail the role more.
I’m glad Emma’s gone. First the “I quit smoking” was her excuse, now her bronchitis... sorry, buh-bye!
I like everyone who’s left now, Lauren being my favorite. I would cast Lauren as Elle and Bailey (or maybe Rhiannon) as Margot. After this week, I’m really liking Natalie too. People keep saying that Autumn is the winner and everyone seems to like her, but to be honest, her performances have disappointed me these last couple of weeks. I’m glad she’s sticking around though and we'll see...
Edit: Comments are below, so spoiler warning (if you consider my thoughts on ep 6 performances a spoiler, that is):
Autumn was VERY good. Beautiful vocals.
Bailey was kind of emotionless at times and some of the notes weren't so great.
Lauren's singing was beautiful and aside from some riffing that I wouldn't have necessarily done, I loved it.
Natalie was also fantastic. She looks very pretty and Elle-like (sorry to pull a Heather Hachs here) as a blonde, too.
Rhiannon had great acting, but eh vocals. I know that I defended her before, but it's obvious in here that she just doesn't have the vocal chops. So, yes, I was wrong.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
Here are the comments of the full performance videos.
Episode 6 -
Autumn: "After a breakthrough in rehearsals, Autumn rocks this challenging dramatic song."
Lauren: "She may be the youngest of all the girls, but Lauren proves that she's got a Broadway-ready voice."
Natalie: "Natalie hopes her newly blonde hairdo will help the judges see her as Elle Woods."
Bailey: "Although she's shined in the past, the judges felt something was lacking in Bailey's audition this week."
Rhiannon: "For the first time, the judges doubt whether or not Rhiannon has the vocal chops needed to handle the role of Elle." Updated On: 7/1/08 at 03:24 AM
Lauren really shocked me. She was pretty great. The thing that hurts Lauren the most is how young she looks.
Natalie, as always was great. the blonde hair (this is gonna sound weird) really helps soften the extreme-ness of her facial features (everything on her face is big, big eyes, big lips, big nose, big mouth, big cheeks). She has a very non-traditional beauty (i personally think she is very pretty), she reminds me a lot of Toni Collette in appearence, but anyway, back to my original point, the blonde hair softens the aspects of her appearence that bother some people. Its really strange.
Rhiannon. poor girl. She has so much enthusiasm and she really is talented, but that was pretty mediocre. The acting was good, but it was getting in the way of the singing.
So this will air on next week's episode? I was wondering when they would bring Emmett into the picture - it's about time!
Can't wait to see Andy! I always get a little jealous when they get to meet and perform with the cast members, so idk how I'm gonna be watching them with Andy.
I wanted to see what the judges thought about the girls changing the game and making up their own superlatives. It's like they totally dropped it out of the show!
"This upcoming week they are doing Legally "Blonde". And the week after they are doing "What You Want". . . .
SPOILER AHEAD:
without Natalie."
I hope she isn't gone, my favorites are Lauren, Bailey, and Natalie. I know Lauren stays at least till "What You Want" I've seen that commercial a billion times.
I think Rhionnan seems seems like the nicest of the girls, but I think she's the worst talent-wise. Her acting is great, but her singing and dancing leaves much to be desired. She comes across as too ditzy and sweet for the role and doesn't have that secretly-smart side that Reese did (and LBB does to some extent too).
Emma just wasn't fun enough for the role and was WAY too intense.
Bailey and Lauren are my faves.
I love Natalie and Autumn too, actually, but don't think they'll make it. The judges just don't seem to trust them enough to be consistent.
For starters...there's a separate thread for spoilers.
"Anyone going on the 23rd? I have tickets for the evening show!"
I'd heard the winner isn't starting until late August now.

This is a little off-topic, but does anyone else get a little irritated everytime Haylie says Legally Blonde The Musical on the show?
"This is Nick, he's the assistant choreographer for Legally Blonde The Musical"
"This is Mark, he's the associate director for Legally Blonde The Musical"
Yes, we get that it's a musical! We get that the girls are auditioning for the role of Elle on Broadway, and not for a re-make of the movie. We don't need to be reminded of it every 5 minutes!
"You drank a charm to kill John Proctor's wife! You drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor!" - Betty Parris to Abigail Williams in Arthur Miller's The Crucible
The judges are very vague and non-helpful. I feel for those girls. They are being put through the ringer by a bunch of hacks who use expressions like "that wasn't Elle-like". The bitchy queen dance captain yesterday was short and bitchy to the girls pointing his finger in their faces. I doubt he talks that way to the cast. I also dont understand why Paul Canaan is there. I know he's in the show but it feels like a lame "we need to get a queer eye in here" move. He just gets all diva with the girls when he likes their performace. I would prefer having Christian Borle or a lead from the show in that judges position rather than a queen with too much spray tan and frosting.
