I have to second what doodle said. I found Patti's performance very compelling, spot-on, and captivating. No one deserves it more! The Sweeney revival, I feel, is incredible in its intricacies.
"Of course there is the castle - the ruined castle. I find it lovely. Probably because it's ruined, I suppose." - Passion
I don't get the Chita nom...it was like another elaine stritch or bea show but with an ensemble...LOVE LOVE LOVE Chita - but should have put her in the Sarah Jones category.
AMY SPANGER...that's all I'll say. The woman deserved at least a nomination.
Funny, I thought the best part of Patti's perf. is that she was able to hold back. We've seen her take eyebrows off the first row, but I LOVED her subtlety, especially in Pies. The whole cast delivering subtle tension was what made this revival a masterpiece.
I respect the other opinions wholeheartedly, tho...as Patti says: "They either love me, or hate me!"
If she were not to win, I'd give it to LaChanze...and I like Kelli alot, just not as much in this role.
"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
I don't want to sound ignorant- but is there a reason why the Odd Couple was completly left out of this years nominations? I thought that show was wonderful and I am wondering if I am missing some huge piece to the puzzle.
Lisa Kron's nomnination for best actress. Cyndi Lauper's lack of a nomination. Cherry Jones' lack of a nomination. Dominic Cooper's lack of a nomination.
Etc.
