Again, I feel bad for all family, friends, everyone, but it pains me to think about how Vanessa is handling this... It must pain her to know that she outlived her child and she had to watch her child die :/
Thanks for all the wonderful pictures, everyone. I am looking for some from the first time I saw her live in the Musical HIGH SOCIETY at the Victoria. I didn't read the program cause I was having a Sherry and watching her I was totally stupified. Also If you know her from THE PARENT TRAP, you HAVE to see her in GOTHIC diredted by Ken Russell and her uncanny performance as PATTY HEARST, directed by Paul Schrader. Brilliant! Oh and then COMFORT OF STRANGERS. Amazing work. Updated On: 3/19/09 at 12:12 AM
I feel for her family. I had a friend who died due to head trauma - she was hit by a car but, nothing visible - she was actually 'knocked down' by a car (he stopped) and she was talking after the accident - Then the brain started to swell and, well, I need not go further. To hear of this accident and the terrible outcome, well, its just awful.
So sad. She seemed to have such a happy family. And so talented. I was looking forward to A Little Night Music since I missed it earlier. Can't believe I just happened by chance to be watching Maid in Manhattan for the first time in a couple of years on Saturday. What a freak accident. The pain her family must feel must be devastating.
Natasha Richardson was a spectacular actress both on screen and onstage. Though hearing her in news reports after discovering her in "The Parent Trap" that her stardom was beginning to arise, I will always remember her for playing Lindsay Lohan's "mum", Elizabeth James. My prayers and condolensces go out to the family as they go through this time of sorrow.
If we are as shaken as we are, imagine what her family and friends must be going through: if we fell in love with someone through a handful of stunning performances, imagine what it must have been like to know her.
