I think Susan Boyle is just mediocre!!!!!!! And kind of scary....
I think In the Heights has awful lyrics. With that being said, I also think Passing Strange was the best musical of last season.
Never really liked or cared for the movie version of 'West Side Story'.
I thought Jersey Boys was good, but not great.
I love Avril Lavigne.

"I love cheesy MTV shows."
Heck yea! The Hills & The City are my guilty pleasures!
Unpopular opinions:
-I thought Urinetown was boring and the songs were pretty forgettable.
-I can't stand The Wizard of Oz, both the books & 1939 movie (although I do appreciate it's importance in film history). But, I do like Wicked.
-I think The Lion King (movie) is overrated.
Phantom of the Opera has got to be the most tedious musical ever written
Legally Blond was legally Bland and should have closed after its first performance.
In Night Mother, the main character should have killed herself 74 minutes sooner in this 75 minute play.
Shrek should have stayed a movie. (actually Im not alone in that one)
Mary Poppins should have stayed a movie.
Other than Beauty and the Beast, all disney aninmated movies should have stayed movies including the overrated Lion King.
Ben Brantly should resign as the critic for the times as he is an elitist reviewer who wouldn't know good theatre if it sat on his face.
Ben Brantley's suggestion that less sets is good for Broadway is strongly misguided.
The revival of Hair is not as good as critics are saying it is. It is a good "off broadway or regional theatre production" but production values are missing.
OH and Rent was the only musical more tedious than Phantom of the Opera.
At least they are purty!!
I hated Enchanted. I hated Amy Adams more. Billy Elliot should NOT win all the awards this year. Kristin Cheno drives me nuts when shes not performing, shes just too much. Shes just not funny.
I find ?The Color Purple? borderline offensive. Instead of laughing with the characters, it was written to have the audience laugh at the characters. For instance, the make out scene with Harpo and Sofia made me cringe. The musical made it seem like all there were to the characters was lots of sex and religion. The movie and novel did a beautiful job of showing the characters could or could have risen above their humble backgrounds.

^ that's pure irony
The second "Into the Woods" act bored me and I felt it was dragged out WAY to long
I love Eden Espinosa, both voice and acting
I don't like what I have heard of Liza, her tony performance
"Billy Elliot should NOT win all the awards this year"
Ain't that the truth. Totally agree

I bought the cast recording for 'The Last 5 Years'. I now want my money back.
NEXT TO NORMAL was one of the unintentionally funniest shows I've ever seen. It should be subtitled "Broadways kookiest musical!".
During one of Alice Riply's many heaving, overwrought moments of despair, I wanted to yell "Oh, just take your f**king meds, b*tch!"
I can't stand Alice Ripley's singing voice.
However, I still love N2N.

--I hated Phantom of the Opera. And Urinetown. And The Lion King.
--Am not a Norbert Leo Butz fan at all.
--I will always love Adam Pascal even though he seems to have gotten a little full of himself over the years.
--I miss Aida and Heather Headley on Broadway.
--Ditto for The Fully Monty and Patrick Wilson.
--Love Rent, but hate Idina.
--Thinks Gavin Creel should have beat the 3 Billys for the Tony. Still bitter over that.
--Think that at 28 years old (29 in a month), I should really stop fangirling at stage doors. But probably won't.
PP, I enjoyed NEXT TO NORMAL, too!

That the Broadway "Chess" is still the best incarnation of that show EVER. Oh, and that its truly wonderful.
I like Cheyenne Jackson but I'm kinda sick of him, too.
I absolutely dislike Karen Olivo, Patti Lupone, and RENT.
I do not get what is so great about Billy Elliot.
I do not think Laura Bell Bundy is that talented.
Legally Blonde: the Musical is a poor interpretation of the movie. (which I've always loved)
I find Sutton Foster's voice annoying at times.
I think everything written by the Bouberg team can be extremely sappy, ballady, and over the top but brilliant.
I reallllly don't like Rent or Idina Menzel. I don't like Alice Ripley's voice very much either and I think she has a weird accent and sings flat on many occasions. I think Julia Murney could blow her off the map as Diana.
onedaymore and here I thought I was the only one who didn't like Karen Olivo. Her voice grates on my nerves and it seems she screams every note. I've seen her in a few roles now and keep waiting for her blow me away, but she just makes me cringe.
I also don't understand the Billy Elliot hype.
During one of Alice Riply's many heaving, overwrought moments of despair, I wanted to yell "Oh, just take your f**king meds, b*tch!"
That made me laugh my a** off.
