Thanks for the birthday wishes! I don't want to turn the radio off. They are continuing to play Sondheim music. I should go to bed wish my computer was in the bedroom. Then I could just leave it on and go to sleep. Children Will Listen is playing - I think it's Barbara Strieshand.

ok I'm so desperete to hear Sorry-Grateful that I went to Itunes and downloaded it with one of the free Itunes pepsi caps that i have...I just love this son so much
In this version is is it Stephen Collins (best known for his work as Eric Camden on 7th Heaven)...it's kinda odd...
Why doesn't Itunes have the Company Cast Recording??? And where is my Cast Recording???

OK ladies and germs, I've got the whole thing compressed and uploading to my server (almost done, will be 100% uploaded within an hour of this posting) - all 12 hours worth. that being said, the broadcast is split up into 11 smaller, more manageable files- each about an hour long and a 30-40 mb download. Be warned, my recording software messed up a bit toward the very end of the 12 hours, and so the only things I missed recording are some bits and pieces here and there- unfortunately the few songs that were hit hardest are classics that many would list as their favorites. well u get what u pay for I guess. and the first 11 hours are as close to flawless as humanly possible.
Please please right click and download these files to your computer if you intend to keep them around. I'm only going to leave them up for maybe 4 or 5 days, long enough for folks to listen, decide, and copy. just be thinking "downloading" and not "streaming". They are all MP3 and easy to work with, and I can at least say for sure that Wednesday evening is the earliest they'd be disapppearing. Alright, I hope everyone is well, and possibly even spending time outdoors today. and let's cross our fingers that XM isn't too tight with the RIAA. 12 Hours of Sondheim, Served Up Broadway-Style

oops, there was a typo in that last link. it's working now. I'm not sure what's keeping you from putting it on a CD, but it's nothing in the file itself. they're encoded in basic MP3 format, but I used a lower bitrate than CD-Quality [128 kb/s] since the feed itself was only 64 kbps. well in either case, the links are working now.

Thanks so much for all of the lovely notes of appreciation I've been getting thru PM and email all day! If I happened to be Elaine Stritch, your messages would have me looking a lot like this:
I began recording the concert for a friend who is in the peace corps right now. So I was already doing the work, but I had no idea there was so such interest or that the performances would affect people as much as they did. It makes me appreciate my wonderful webhosts for hooking me up with unlimited storage space.
Unfortunately I don't have unlimited bandwidth, so I am still removing these files on Thursday. According to my Web Stats, almost 200 gigs of Sondheim have been downloaded since yesterday! I'm not yet close to my limit, but if I leave it up too long, it's a possibility I could run over, which would make me look more like this:
So I just wanted to remind that the files are in fact going to be removed, so make sure you've got 'em.
