What actor/director/librettist/lyricist/composer, etc. has a way overdue Tony?

Why do I get the feeling that I can predict who the author feels has an overdue Tony?
OK...I will bite the bait....Stephen Schwartz. I really do think he is overdue. I wish he and Tsori could have tied this year.
Judy Kuhn
Veanne Cox
Marin Mazzie
Rachel York
Jerry Mitchell
Wow, Jerry Mitchell's never won!? Didnt know that.
hehehehe :)
lachiusa has been nominated many many times and not won yet.
both alice ripley and emily skinner do consistent work and are very well known and well respected in theater and have not won yet. same with carolee carmello.
Tovah Feldshuh. What more do they want from her??? A kidney, perhaps???

Raoul Esparza.
Now...I know we all love him...But Raul Esparza has been in and around the NY theatre scene for about four years. That can hardly be termed 'way' overdue.
Victor Garber, on the other hand...
LaChiusa was only nominated for Marie Christine and The Wild Party in 2000 and Chronicle of a Death Foretold in 1996.
Yes, she won the BEST THEATRICAL SPECIAL EVENT Tony. But it is a sin that she doesn't have an Acting Tony.
Elaine Stritch
And I would say Stephen Scwartz. But, althought I love GODSPELL and PIPPIN, I don't beleive they are Tony-worthy scores. But they are loads better than scores that have won that award recently, so.....

Has Patrick Wilson ever won?
HALLELLUJAH!!! Veanne Cox VEanne Cox Veanne Cox!
Veanne Cox
Stephen Schwartz has the worst lyrics ever, other than DOONESBURY: THE MUSICAL.
Schwartz makes up his own words, for chrissakes.

Audra McDonald, anyone?
B Peter's for her apparenty amazing and ground breaking work in "Gypsy".
And the debate starts again.
But Bernadette already has a Tony. I think this thread is about those poor souls left completely wanting.
I met Veanne Cox the other night. Very nice.
To quote Patti Lupone: "The base is made of plastic. Let's go have lunch."
Audra? She has about a bazillion Tony awards... share the love, Ms. MacDonald!
Well, yes, I knew that, I was being fecicious (sp?)
But she deserved all four.
It's facetious.

It would be pretty hard to beat the Susan Lucci of the Tonys: costume designer Jane Greenwood. She was nominated for one of her first shows, ''Tartuffe'' (1965), and she's been up for a Tony 14 times - and never won. She's done plays and musicals (such as ''Passion'' and the revival of ''She Loves Me''). And in most any other season, Greenwood would've been a shoo-in for her extravagant costumes in ''The Scarlet Pimpernel,'' but that was the season of ''The Lion King,'' which won, and even more shockingly, she wasn't even nominated (!). She's been up for a Tony in every decade since the '60s, and she's still designing (she's doing the upcoming ''Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?'') It's time for the Tonys to give her a lifetime achievement award.

I saw both Wonderful Town and Never Gonna Dance. I know NGD didn't run too long and the singing was kinda bad but the dancing was AMAZING! It was nominated and I think it should have won. Wonderful Town was great as well but Jerry has done Gypsy, Hairspray and others very well and I think NGD was his best. He really should have won for that...

Neil Patrick Harris - someone write him a new musical so that a nomination would follow!!
