Anthony - my six year old jokes that he can only "rent Rent because it will be rated R". There is yet another generation of Rent out there. Jonathan would be thrilled.
Thanks for your sharing.

I'm going to throw my two cents in here on the book thing. I've just gotten hooked BACK into the Left Behind series. I read them all, and I decided a week ago to start again, so this is very exciting in the world of me. I also have to say that The Other Boleyn Sister is good. It's an historical fiction novel about Anne Boleyn's sister. A very interesting read.
To Kill a Mocking Bird and Brave New World are my two favorite books that I was forced to read in high school. Amazing books to read, if you ask me.
A side note: I just got "Broadway: The American Musical" on DVD for my birthday. One of the special features is a performance of "Sunday" by Jonathan Larson. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this clip. I thought it was amazing, and being the person that I am, I sobbed as I watched it. So I'm just curious as to other people's reactions. Both to the reason he wrote the song and the performance...
That's all...

Posted: 2/24/05 at 11:33pmI admit, the R rating puts a damper on my plan to see the movie as many times as humanly possible (better start saving up for seats and gas money). :-P Well if they think they're keeping me away because I'm a couple years shy of 18....hahahaha *cough*.

Posted: 2/24/05 at 11:34pmDreamcatcher - it took me quite a while, too. I'm bad with faces, but good with voices. I am marvelled for the fact that I connected Nigel Thornberry wailing about something or another to Frank N. Furter... Ahem. Not going off-topic at all. *is sorry*

Posted: 2/24/05 at 11:37pmhaha what can I say, the make up and wig can really throw a person off. :-P I asked my friend who is somewhat of a theatre junkie and he told me that it was Anthony and I almost choked on a banana in my smoothie. :-P Then I went back to look and sure enough. I love how I can tell so easily, but only AFTER someone pointed told me and I'd spent so long staring at that pic trying to figure it out before. Weird.

Dream you really gotta quit choking on stuff! Sorry had to put that in.
Thanks for the update. Always fun to read.
Gah favorite books. Can we say too many favorites? Girl With a Pearl Earring just love the writing and the pace(sp?) of the story is wonderful. The Bridget Jones's books, started reading the Lemony Snickett books again, To Kill A Mockingbird which was actually a seventh grade reading book but loved the story, About a Boy, Phantom of the Opera. Okay the list could go on forever and a day, but I'll stop there.

Really? My sister is reading To Kill A Mockingbird, for High School (she's a freshman). I wonder what happened to make them put the book 2 grades above. Humm.
P.S. I am sorry to threadjack!!!! *slaps hand* Bad RABAC, bad RABAC!

Hon, you've got to share YOUR favorite books, too!
And I forgot Ayn Rand. *slaps hand* BAD Lael! Of course The Fountainhead is one of my favorites---haven't finished Atlas Shrugged yet...Who am I kidding, I started it five years ago.

hmm, favorite books? I havent seen it mentioned yet, so i will put it out there, the Harry Potter series. I also really liked the His Dark Materials trilogy and the Everworld books (ya, im a fantasy geek, o well)
and on the topic of To Kill a Mockingbird, we just finished that in school (and im a sophomore in Honors english). I must say, it is the best school book i have read, seeing as Tale of Two Cities wasnt too good and readin Julius Caesar REALLY stunk

Posted: 2/25/05 at 9:58amThat's kind of a harsh judgement, chaos. Reading books in school ruins many of them, depending on how they're taught. To dub Tale of Two Cities as not that good is kind of...well, that's just my opinion. I personally read it for pleasure, and it's one of my favorites.

Kristin...I have the DVD also and LOVE the "Sunday" clip. I cried the first time I watched it too, you aren't the only one :) Actually the whole RENT segment was amazing. LOVED Jonathan singing "Glory"...so gorgeous.
As for the HEDWIG/RENT thing I love both and never realized that was an uncommon thing. I don't know, there are a lot of similarities and it seems odd to me that there could be so many people chosing sides. Weird.

woah Anthony has patience. If I had to type out that big message he just did, I think I would shoot someone!
p.s. i have a question for like, anyone in general. This has probably been mentioned before but is it just me, or in Tick..tick..BOOM, doesnt Raul Esperaza (sp?) sound a lot like Adam Pascal? I think thats so cool how that voice works into Jonathan Larson's work. Maybe Im just going crazy.....but I swear they sound alike!
#2087A Book Report...
Posted: 2/25/05 at 11:08amAt first Raul's and Adam's (and Norbert's) voices all sounded very similar to me. Actually my mom used to listen to RENT *all* the time around the house when I was growing up (from when I was like 8 years old!) and for a really long time I thought Adam and Anthony were the same person. Now, of course, all 4 voices sounds very distinct to me, but there are definite similarities.

Hmmm...personally, I don't actually find their voices to be similar...maybe that's just because I was into Rent and got very used to Adam's voice LONG before I got into TTB.
Speaking of, Anthony, it seemed to me that tick...tick...BOOM! felt a lot more polished and mature than the original NYTW Rent, even though it was an earlier work. Do you have any thoughts on the subject?
#2089A Book Report...
Posted: 2/25/05 at 12:17pmLael- yeah I got into RENT before TTB also. I figured RENT was so good, TTB must be a worthwhile listen. and i can tell apart hte voices of course, but adam and raul both i think have this cool rock voice going on. dont know how to explain it any further. lol
#2090A Book Report...
Posted: 2/25/05 at 12:18pmBut Raul has that weird UberVibrato thing going on...mind you, I adore him, but it's VERY distinct.

Lael - yay, a Rand fan! Hey, if you ever decide to pick up Atlas Shrugged again, the ending is a tear-jerker... Hmm. I'm inspired to change my signature thingy to ' "Why don't you just tell me what you think of me?" "But I don't think of you." ' Go Howard Roark! ...Ahem.
I love Raul's UberVibrato. I wish I could pull that off.
And wow, I may just have to give up high school in order to not miss huge chunks of bww discussion...

Well, I'm just going to say this, but I like the Star Trek: Voyager books.
*ducks* They show much more J/C stuff then in the TV show. Plus it's fun to hear just how cheesey Chakotay sounds. Sorry, probably only Lael knows what I'm talking about.

Sorry. *I slap hand twice*
It's like two focus spiders, but different. Ok, so not rush Anthony at all, I will just bring up this question again of "what do you think of the Mark/Roger idea?" Anthony, take your time.
