Ohhh yeah the Harry Potter books, forgot to add those. I've been in love with those books since the fourth grade and I eagerly anticipate the sixth one coming out this summer/late spring.
I need to get myself one of those sidekicks so I can go online during school hours. But then again, any more computer time might just be unhealthy for me.
Yeah I heard that Goodbye Love would be partial dialogue now....but then again it's not the biggest jump. I think it'd still work just fine, being dialogue. For the movie, I think it actually would work better, plus they can make the Mark/Roger fight more intense and angry. I know, cruel to want them to fight but it's a great scene. :-P And does anyone know what's going on with Seasons of Love? Is it going to be V.O. with a montage of shots, sung, spoken....?

Hello, Anthony! I'm a brand new RENT fan--only a few months old. I think it's great that you are willing to share some experiences from the set. I am very excited about the movie, and reading what you have said already is making me even more intrigued.
I have a question for you: were you/any of your fellow cast members nervous about playing these roles again? Did it feel very natural to slip back into this character, or did you have some worries?
Thank you for your time!
Edit: Oh, and some introductory stuff. Everyone seems to be talking about books, so--I love Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, etc., but also so much more. The His Dark Materials trilogy. Franny and Zooey. I just read The Great Gatsby and loved it. I love fantasy authors like Tamora Pierce, Diane Duane, Donna Jo Napoli, and Diana Wynne Jones. I've recently enjoyed books like The Red Tent and Cannery Row. Mmmm, books.
As for music, well... Tori Amos, Lisa Loeb, Dar Williams, Ani DiFranco, Joni Mitchell, the Weakerthans, Rilo Kiley, Nellie McKay, Damien Rice, Cat Stevens, Rufus Wainwright, Poe, Placebo, Elliott Smith, The Beatles... the list goes on and on. And musicals, of course!

i'm picky about my books:
I love lemony snicket books!!
Tale of two cities, my absolute favorite!
Judy Blume books, when i was younger....
les miserables was good
Of mice and men was really good!
Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, so many others.....
now i focus on adapting books into plays and musicals, i'm attempting to adapt the most interesting and appealing to me and others, sometimes i spend hours in a bookstore searching for the right book....
hey you guys, we should give anthony an autographed pic of ourselves, since he always signs stuff for us, that would be funny...well at least i think it would be...and...oh never mind i'll shut up now...
ric
PS to Anthony
1)What is your book about??
2) I'm always nervous before i perform, mostly axiety...hours even a day prior to the show, i'm so nervous..pacing...vomitting (well not really...lol)...but i feel so nervous...do you ever feel nervous priot to a show?? If so...how do you deal with it??
3) Singing!! Do you ever have trouble hitting notes?? Does the music ever have to be brought down a few octaves (idk if i spelled that right) so you can sing it properly?? this always happens with me, the music has to be lowered. Also, i totally screwed my voice up in "les miserable" I had crazy belting i couldn't maintain, because i was fairly new to singing then...and my voice was in throbbing pain after every rehearsal...but now i've gotten better and i don't think i can belt like i could...any advice on how i can maintain my voice for the show i'm required to do?? I.E. hitting high notes, etc...
thanks so much

Les Miserables was an amazing book. I read it for a 9th grade book review and fell in love with it.
As was Of Mice and Men, read that last year also. It was one of those books that I couldn't put down, I spent 4 hours reading it without stopping after school one night.
A question in some kind of relation to Broadwaybelter's about singing.....how do you manage 8 shows a week without losing your voice? For something like RENT in which you sang in almost every song, every night for over a year it's hard to believe that you can even speak today. How did you manage?

Sorry just have to say this, but broadwaybelter thanks for reminding me about how nervous I get before a performance or even an audition. Although I have found it helps the performance in the end(at least the last few times.)
Sorry everyone this is just nervous energy for an audition taking place in a week so needed to let it out somewhere. Very apologetic.

Yeah don't worry about it Race, you'll do fine.
Good luck!
Well you'd think that after doing one show for so long, that nervousness just kind of ebbs away but I could be wrong. I have the worst pre-stage fright...the minute I go onstage I'm fine but those 10 min leading up to it I'm literally shaking too hard to hold a pen and write something legible.

Anthony!! I've been a fan of yours through YAGMCB, Rent, A Beautiful Mind, Dazed and Confused..etc..
Are you considering returning to Broadway? What would you like to do?
And when is your book coming out? I'm dying to read it!!

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps...
What did she realize, Kitten?
That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs.
What's wrong with that?
Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had...
Where?
On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

Remember it's bad luck to say "good luck". Gah I'll just practice my stuff really hard. I'm glad I'm doing the Shakespeare monologue for it. Whoohoo for Shakespeare.
It's all good. Just happy all the college stuff(I know supposed to have done it ages ago) is done. Free. Okay enough spazzing.

hey anthony, ty again for all the posting you do about your life and about the movie. I have a question or two.
1. how long are you guys staying in nyc? and 2. this has nothing to do with rent, but what are a few of your favorite tv shows when you have the chance to watch tv?

Perhaps the slightest bit off-topic, but Anthony, I just really, really wanted to thank you for writing "Visits to You." I lost someone very close to me this last year after a long period of sickness, and...well, it just speaks to me very deeply. I was listening to it today, and I just thought I should thank you, since I have the opportunity. And thank you for being so receptive and open to your fans, giving us this great opportunity.

Hey Anthony, I just wanted to let you know that a few of my friends and I are traveling to New York this weekend to see you perform! We'll be at the reading of Bingo with the Indians on Sunday, and the Bingo Charity event on Monday! We're really looking forward it! Is there any information you can give on either event? See you there!

Hey, I appreciate you answering my question Anthony. Thanks. If you do ever get the chance to make it out to the Palm Springs area for a show, that'd be really great. Let me know, okay.
As usual, I've got more. I was wondering, are you're a Styx fan? If so, do you have a fav song?
Again, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer our questions. I hope your trip home was good.
Btw, I had one slightly personal question. Do you have any pics of you and Rodney, and would you be willing to share them with us? That'd be so great. Thanks again.

Oh you like the Giver BEKA? I just read that book (actually had a day with no tutors or acting class this weekend) and I absolutely loved it. I won't go into a ramble and go completely off topic (see I'm getting better and controlling myself :-P) but will leave it at the fact that it was a very iteresting read. And the RENT bible, worth every penny plus more!

But anyways, there IS a point to this post I swear. I recently read an article about a spoof you did of La Vie Boheme Anthony, and I was just wondering if you could provide some detail of that? The snippet I read was pretty vague but it sounded pretty interesting/funny.
