Were you going through health problems at the end of JH's run?? I don't remember reading that. Why should you have been "in a coma"? I must say I thought you were just fine on that DVD, certainly the best in that cast. I hope whatever medical problem you had then is fixed now!
i have posted before, but i don't mind repeating.. i have Grave's Disease which is a pretty severe and can be deadly thyroid condition. it causes your thyroid to be extrememly overactive. i weighed about 108 and i am 5'7" so that wasn't good...but when your uptake gets soo high you can go into a thyroid "storm" and slip into a coma. the highest iodine uptake they like to see is 13...thats not good.. but MINE was 78!!...it is a miracle and the by grace of God that i wasn't in a coma. my doc saw the JH video and was like "HOW did you do that??!!??" anyway...thanks for your compliment. i get far more comments like YOURS..so i am not upset or anything about Broadway86.
BESIDES this is a thread about COLEEN LOVE! who I LOVE!!! lets get back to our regularly scheduled programming!! if anyone has any more questions or comments please PM me...lets not spoil this nice thread for coleen! xoxoxoxox andrea

thanks Matthew! just so y'all know..its ok not to like me! not everyone does..its all part of the biz! i just feel bad if i've let someone down..BUT..it happens..not everyone can be everyone's cup of tea! thats why there are lots of flavors of tea! LOL!
Loved both of their performances and vocals on that DVD. Myself and a few friends always thought that Coleen had a touch of the younger Bernadette about her. Just some of the vocal mannerisms and little things. Only a hint and its certainly not a bad thing.
As for Andrea, well hats off to you for pulling through. A friend of mines suffered something comparable and it put her career off track for the moment. I wish people would appreciate that performers are only human like the rest of us. For those that are public about such things, well hats off for the honesty. For those that are not well thats entirely their choice. I sometimes wonder how hurtful it must feel for someone will an illness to read catty comments about them being off.
Andrea... you were/are awesome, and I wish you only the best.
As for Coleen.. I love her as well!! I love her voice and her acting and it is due time she returns to the Broadway stage. (I didn't see any myspace of hers though.... )
I would love to see Coleen play Elphaba. I too always say her when someone asks who should be the next Elphaba. Andrea, I just want to say that I enjoyed your performance very much as well, and I loved your interpretation of Emma - and "In His Eyes" with you and Coleen was a highlight. I also think you would make a great Galinda. It would be cute to see you and Coleen as Elphaba and Galinda together.
Cheers,
The Balladeer

I had the pleasure of enjoying both Coleen & Andrea while they were together in J&H more than a few times. (I took groups to Bd'w back then and J&H was the "hot" show to see).
Coleen is just knock dead beautiful. Most of the young men in my group needed a drooling bib sitting in the front rows of the Plymouth ( understand that there is no orch. pit, so you are actually 12" from the stage).
Not to stray from this lovely Coleen thread, but please endulge me this one time. Andrea had been doing J&H on tour with Chuck Wagner when the old "jekkies" got wind of her. ( We didn't smell her lol!, but heard about how she was really doing Emma justice out there ). At the time she was longing to return home to NYC for a very "special" reason.
When the right opening came and with a little, no,a lot of "jekkie" press, we finally got Andrea back to NY in Jekyll. Not to discredit Christiane Noll,(OBC Emma) who is one of my favorite sopranos but Andrea brought a totally new shade of emotion, much like Julia Murney is doing with Elphaba, to the role of Emma. And yes! she could easily hit those high notes. Towards the end of run she was very ill and very worried not knowing what was going on. Not everyone understood it. Some could have been more compassionate, but her friends and supporters stuck by her.
Both Coleen & Andrea should be back on Broadway. Incidently, I think Andrea would make a great Fantine for the new revival. I wish she would audition next week.
Andrea, you have to audition for FANTINE!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I may be slow, but I just realized that andrew was Andrea. But anyways, Andrea- you were AMAZING in the DVD. I knew nothing about you before that and I think you are an amazingly talented performer. I'm sure you've heard that way too many times but I have nothing original to say, hahah.
Okay, to Coleen. Her voice is original, at least, to me it is. It isn't the best, I still like Linda Eder's Lucy VOCALLY, but acting-wise Coleen wins. She is BEAUTIFUL and I am really looking forward to a Broadway return. Yay for Coleen!

well, anyone feel free to contact any powers that be who need to be contacted. i have called and left messages for both tara AND cameron. they both know me and my work. i worked on Miss Saigon for 4 years, finally got promoted to Ellen in the last year and nine months of that run...i had SOO HOPED that they would transfer me over to Les Miz at some point. it never happened....its very upsetting to me because they know me and know how desperately i wanted to be a part of les miz..even in the ensemble..which is what i am BEGGING for now...to AUDITION to UNDERSTUDY Fantine... its a VERY hard business and there is some proof for you... =( say a prayer that they call. its feels bad to not get a PART but its even harder to not get an AUDITION!!!
I don't think that's going to happen. Norm Lewis will be Javert, and that's definately not stunt casting. But you never know, so I hope that doesn't happen.
How to properly use its/it's:
Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...
Egan, when you say shift key are you referring to the fact that I don't post with any caps? I will try and work on that. It's so much easier NOT to hit the caps...you're not the first to point it out. I refuse because I am lazy! I also love using elipses.....see....these things. That bugs people too! AND...I can not change my screen name...when I very first posted on here...I didn't know who was posting here and I didn't want to say who I was right away..I didn't MEAN to type Andrew Rivers, I meant to type Andrea Rivers. If you notice, the A and the W are pretty close together. I have asked Craig a couple of times to change it. I guess he didn't think it was necessary or just hasn't gotten to it yet. That's why I use the quote I use because I don't want anyone to think I am trying to "trick" them, as I have been accused of! hahahah!! ok..I think I got all of the caps in on this post..do you feel better now?!! LOL!
Just from reading your posts, I have learned what a sweet and down to earth person you are! I would give anything to have heard you sing as Ellen in Saigon! I think that you would be the epitome of an excellent Fantine and must be casted! I am so looking forward to the performance. I can't wait to see Norm. And hopefully, I will get to see you up there! It is so nice to have your presence grace this board!
P.S. I added you on Myspace!

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...
OMG Andrea singing Ellen! Why can't they have more cds!!!!!
