"Got a signed and personalized Playbill from Kristen today @ Promises Promises!!!
I was sooo shocked, I sent way back during rehearsals and even forgot to put postage on the return envelope!
LOVEEEEE HER, Sean Hayes back off she's mine! :p"
i got in sh&t on youtube the other day for not calling her KRISTIN you don't need to worry about Sean. glad you got something back
I have only written one cast and have gotten ZILTCH back. (a long time ago) kind of makes me think they are not what they appear. but i got other stuff from them live, so it's okay.
Got a few things within the last week: *A signed playbill and "I Am the One" picture from Alice Ripley - I love her trademark bubble letters and how she wrote "Peace Out!" on the playbill
*A Dainty June picture and a lovely letter from Leigh Ann Larkin
* A sweet note from Karen Olivo. She said that she didn't have any pictures to send me, but that's alright. The note was more than enough.
Great success today. I had gotten Chris Walken, Anthony Mackie, and Zoe Kazan outside of A Behanding In Spokane in March. I got Walken and Mackie on photos, and Zoe on a Playbill. I decided to send the Playbill to the stage manager to see if I could get the cast to sign it (mostly, I wanted Sam Rockwell to sign it, as I missed him that night). Today got a different playbill signed by the cast, Playwright Martin McDonagh, and all the understudies. Very nice surprise!
Earlier this week I also got a Promises, Promises Playbill inscribed to me from Sean Hayes.
A few days ago I received stuff from Katie Rose Clarke and Alice Ripley. Katie sent her bubble pic from NOMTW. Alice sent a pic from I Am The One. Alice put the pic in a Playbill which was nice, because it protected it. Katie took about 5 weeks, Alice 1.5.
I was just going through my theatre memory box looking for a ticket stub when I came across a letter from Sarah Jessica Parker in 1979 when she was in Annie. I remember going backstage to meet her and I brought her flowers. The note from her was thanking me for the flowers. I can't find the picture of us though. I totally forgot about that letter.
Hey Dottie!
Did your colleagues enjoy the cake even though your cat decided to sit on it? ~GuyfromGermany
I got Katie Clarke mail, twice. Once from when I sent her a letter in Cali durring her last tour stop, and the other from her first week on broadway. Both were 2 weeks apart and two diffrent photo's of her as glinda.
I also got my Angela Lansbury mail back...I sent her my Todd and Spirit playbills and she sent them back in my sase unsigned. I'm not so much upset, but rather confused as to why she would take the time to send them back?

This may be a dumb question to ask, but for those of you who have gotten signed playbills and photos back, did you send them to them for signature or just write them a letter and include a SASE? I'd send my own stuff, but I'm worried if I don't get a response I'd lose my Playbills. Plus it's not like they don't have tons of them sitting around.
If you don't send your own stuff, do you ask for particular things when you write? Or is it best to send a general fan letter and hope for any sort of response. Thanks for the advice.
^ If you're self conscious about losing your things in the mail, just send them a letter asking for a signed Playbill and a SASE. Besides, they usually send back signed Playbills if you send a general letter and SASE.
In regard to my constant quest to contact the authors of the great musicals to show my appreciation, has anyone ever tried contacting Sheldon Harnick of Fiddler, She Loves Me, and Fiorello! fame?
@NotScott I'd be cautious about sending your personal stuff to be signed. I sent a program to West Side Story almost 6 months ago to be signed by Josefina Scaglione and I haven't had it returned yet.
Oh yeah... It was a program that had other autographs on it too. Just lovely...
