This is the first time I had ever done this, but I was so moved by Tony Sheldon's performance in PRISCILLA that I sent him a card and my playbill...He wrote me back in less than 5 days (!!!) - personalized my playbill to me and added a really, really lovely card. I was beyond ecstatic! What a sweet man and a true class act.
"Years from now, when you talk about this - And you will - Be kind. "
Today, I got a signed magazine featuring Priscilla during the Toronto run, from Nick Adams. It took about 2 weeks. (And I didn't send him the magazine neither.)
Well I havnt posted on BWW in quite some time so what better way to reintroduce myself then to tell of the latest stuff I received.
So it took about a month (maybe a little longer) but I FINALLY got back a signed and personalized Robin Williams Photo as well as and additional photo that I did not include. Thought that was very generous.
I could understand the long wait as I can imagine how much fan mail this man must get.
Since no one has posted on this for a month, figured I'd tell more of what I got since:
- Douglas Hodge picture and note (took about 6 months) - Baby, It's You cast signed opening night playbill - Chicago playbill signed by Christie Brinkley - Letter from War Horse stage manager requesting $25 donation to BC/EFA. Donation sent, waiting for the playbill.
I am sure this has been asked before but I was unable to find it in a little skimming, so...If I wanted to send a SASE to a theatre to ask for a cast signed playbill how should I address the envelope to the theatre?
I have sent out lots of fan letters and requests for signed playbills but I haven't gotton luck.Only Heidi Blinckenstaff,Rachel Potter and Brad Oscar gave me signed photos of there charcters. These are all the people I sent requests to: Jennifer Damiano (Spider-Man) Sutton Foster twice (Anything Goes) Kate Shindle (Wonderland) Karen Mason (Wonderland) Jackie Hoffman 3 times (The Addams Family), but I don't care because she read 2 of them on her vlog. Christopher J. Hanke (How To Succeed.....) also got read on his vlog so i'm fine. Bebe Neuwirth (Addams Family) Adam Riegler (Addams Family) Mandy Gonzalez (Wicked) Gave her an envolope and a hand made drawing of the playbill, no luck. Katie Rose Clarke (Wicked) Gave her an envolope and no luck.
Today, after a 3.5 month wait, and $5 in postage, I received the following letter from How to Succeed: "As you might imagine, we receive an overwhelming amount of requests and regret that we are unable to keep up with the demand. We hope you'll come see the show!". I have already seen the show.

Back in the days of CZJ/Lansbury NIGHT MUSIC I got my signed GYPSY cast recording liner notes back from Lansbury.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Mine was sent during previews as well..I flew in from Toronto to catch the show in April, and figured there was no way Id get near the stage door...Ah well....I never heard back from Driving Miss Daisy (I sent it in February, way before it closed), nor did I hear from CMIYC.... BOM replied really quickly!

Today, I got my Next to Normal poster back! THANK GOD! I mailed it out, I think 4 months ago, and never received it so I thought it got lost or something.
Before I sent it, it was signed by pretty much every member of the Broadway cast, original and closing, except Alice. I got it back signed by every tour cast member including the understudies.
I also just got my photo back from Jim Parsons, inscribed with a Bazinga!. I had forgotten about since he signed a few things for me outside the theatre after I had sent it.
