The Facebook page “Annie the Musical” lists the MSG revival happening this December and says it’s staring Whoopi as Hannigan 12/11 - 1/5.
That's a big get for Dolan if true.
Is this the recent Jenn Thompson touring production?
The dates are loaded on Ticketmaster, with tickets on pre-sale tomorrow, apparently. Running December 4 through January 5, with Whoopi performing as Miss Hannigan from December 11 through January 5.
Don't expect her to do 8 shows a week. She couldn't even do 8 shows a week in XANADU and she definitely won't have the stamina to do a 6 show weekend. Odds are she'll have an alternate.

I also see that the tour is returning to Chicago November 12 - December 1.
Where do you see the tour is returning to Chicago?

Good get for them, but the Theatre at MSG is an abysmal place to see a musical.

That's a big get for them if true. I'd probably see it for Whoopi.
What's going on with ELF?

The rumors are all true! Tour kicks off in Chicago in November and Whoopi joins for 4 weeks in NYC.
A lot of two and one night stops in that schedule. Will this for sure still be an equity tour following New York?

According to the audition notice, it looks like it’s going out on the lowest SETA contract- rarely ever used, but The Kite Runner tour used it. A majority of the split weeks have days off in between cities, which is another sign that the tour is staying Equity.

Is there a code for today’s presale?
thank you in advance
Again, she's not going to do 8 shows a week. I'd guarantee it.
There are a couple of Thursday 11am matinees in December. She'd have to miss The View in order to be at those performances. And yes, I do realize if she's doing the Chicago run, she may be missing multiple tapings of The View in November. But if Whoopi will only be doing select performances, they should probably be announced in advance.
There's zero indication she's doing any of the shows in Chicago, which means she's not.
From Deadline:
"Earlier reports incorrectly stated Goldberg was part of the Chicago cast, but she will appear exclusively in NYC December 11 – January 5."

She’s not going to Chicago with this. She’s also not doing the first week of NYC since she’ll be rehearsing.
The View would 100% never have let her out of November shows anyway (election month).

Is this an age/health thing, or has this just been true about her onstage generally? Was that the case with Forum?
I don't know what her attendance was in FORUM, but for Xanadu she only did 6 shows a week. And that was in 2008.

Whoopi normally sits out one day a week, it very well could be moved to Thursday to accommodate. Or she can just sit out for those view broadcasts. The show goes on.
Is this standard pricing for MSG shows? I haven’t been in over a decade.
The initial press release (which was incorrect) said that she would be doing the Chicago run and the NY run. It has since been amended stating that she will only be performing December 11-January 5.
The View will likely be on hiatus during this time period, so it shouldn't affect her schedule there. Normally, she does Monday-Thursday and takes Friday off, when Joy Behar moderates.
The View would likely go on hiatus beginning Dec. 21 and resume on Jan. 6. I still don't expect her to do all 8 shows a week.
