I would definitely say SUMMER. I expect an announcement probably within the next week so they can drum up holiday sales.

I have a friend in the know who said KING KONG is toast by January.

I also think WAITRESS might hold on into the next year since they just released a new block of tickets, pending on how they sell and who they cast.

With Summer grossing in the mid-$400K range this week, I'm surprised they haven't already posted a January 6 closing.

Friend of mine said Anastasia is waiting to see how Cody sells. If he doesn’t sell well they’ll close by February or March.

While I'm feel he'll be good in the part, I don't really see him as much of a box office draw.

While King Kong isn't making the kind of money it needs to in order to sustain a run and make a profit...I have heard that the producers intend to keep it open to Tony season in hopes of a Best Musical nomination. That's obviously an unlikely Tony scenario for them, but just reporting what I heard

I don't know, but to see three shows post notices in as many days - and not because of the Tony nominations or awards - is kind of astounding.  They're dropping like flies!

your "friend" makes a statement that does not make sense. If he is not selling well, no reason to bleed through Feb/Mar. OTOH it is not especially imperiled ATM.

A bunch of shows always close in January, so neither the timing nor any of the shows in question seem too surprising...

The astounding thing is that HOH and OOTI did not close long ago. The former has lost money nonstop, and the latter has lost money in all but a handful of frames. There will be more by the end of the holidays and they will not be astounding.
