The climax of "Another Day" in RENT. I love the harmonies. I can't wait to hear how it will sound in the movie.
Right now, I'm on a major PIAZZA kick. The whole score is amazing, but "Octet" is sticking out to me. I love the canon of "I am suddenly alive. I am suddenly alone." towards the end of the song, after Clara's rant. It's beautiful.
One Day More and the Finale from Les Mis Hugh singing "Once before I go " Most of Rent and especially Seasons of Love and the Finale The Opening and the title song from Phantom Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar Somewhere and Tonight from West Side Story
Audra McDonald- Your Daddy's Son Frances Ruffelle- On My Own, and her other parts in Les Mis. D'Jamin Bartlett- The Millers Son from A Little Night Music
I'd have to say ditto to everyone else, so im not redundant.
But one thing that gave me major chills and almost brought tears to my eyes was in Big River, the revival. When the entire company is singing "Waiting for the Light to Shine" in beautiful harmony and in perfect, synched signing and all of a sudden when the song climaxes, the music just stops and the singing just stops, but the signing continues and it was just amazing!
-"Music of the Night" or the Finale in Phantom of the Opera (of course Hugh doing it adds to the effect!) -Finale of Les Mis -"I'll Cover You" (Reprise) from RENT -"Defying Gravity" from Wicked
someone good singing "Confrontation" from Jekyll & Hyde. Esp. with Chuck Wagner... *shivers!* (cant believe im the only one that's mentioned that)
Oh, and "Nobody Needs To Know" from L5Y... okay anything from L5Y... that whole show makes me cry... but i really start ballin with "Nobody Needs To Know". Why? I dunno.
The whole second act of Miss Saigon... esp. when the ghost of ____ (forgot his name, the guy her father agreed to have her marry) comes out and sings that song to Kim.
Um... I got nothin else for now.
Basically any really creepy slow and uneasy song...
Yessss, I was just talking to someone about this. Just THINKING about the whole Defying Gravity scene gives me chills...and listening to Idina or Eden sing...
everytime I see All shook Up during Can't help falling in love (closing to the first act) when the full cast comes on stage and all the lights go up and all at once the all turn to the front and sing "take my hand, take my whol life to" its awsome and I get chills every time!!
Grace: My love for you is like this scar (points to elbow) ulgy but permanent!
"Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" from the OBC of Les Miz. It always makes me think of how many damn wars have happened before and after the Les Miz timeframe, and the song fits every timeframe.
"My dreams, watching me said, one to the other...this life has let us down."
GYPSY -Trumpet solo during overture. -"Rose's Turn" by Lansbury, Daly & Peters. -Louise's dressing room scene in Gypsy. -The first few notes of "Everything's Coming Up Roses."

"maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away" -sex and the city
