I know what you mean. That's why I'm asking because I want to see it again.

Saw her last week...she should stick to tv. Wierd facial expressions and her poor voice; it was kind of sad. Costumes were nice but going to a 2:00 show with hundreds of kids under the age of 11...not the way to spend an afternoon.

I haven't seen her as Belle. Out of all those Disney channel stars turned singers, I thought she had the most decent voice. Well, it is different live, but hey it could be worse - Hilary Duff... =(

Shut your mouth Millie. I don't even want to think of Ms. Duff touching a stage.

Bad, bad me...
Exactly, which is why it could be worse. I understand that Christy Romano at least had theater experience. Which is better than one who is not experienced such as Hil- oops don't want to say it.

geeez, i was uber jealous to hear about romano and her score with belle. she has a rather impressive resume and i hate to admit it but her speaking voice is so clear and gorgeous...but i've heard nothing but bad reviews of her.
for those who have seen it, give me details! did she ruin "home?"

After hearing she was going to be in the show, I really wanted to see it! Sadly, I have been hearing nothing but negative reviews (notes being flat, weird facial expressions, etc.); but overall, I give her props because she is young and I believe she does have talent.

I thought she did a fine job. She had trouble hitting some high notes and was a little cartoonish at times, but she was sweet. I think she made a servicable Belle.

I agree with Quibbler - she was fine as Belle. The only problem is the obvious age differential between her and Steve Blanchard when the beast suit comes off.
Faced with these Loreleis, what man can moralize!

Frankly, I was far from impressed with her when she was just singing her silly little ditties on the Disney channel so I'm relatively sure that I'd appreciate her much less on Broadway. But you all are right...almost anyone is better than Hilary Duff.

That's really sad b/c the Broadway version of Belle is a really great role. Much better than the movie.

umm, I personally don't think she should be compared to hilary duff. Christy was a stage performer first and then got disney and hilary duff has no intensions of doing broadway. When I went to see beauty and the beast I couldn't believe how horrible she was. She can't hit alot of the high notes and she is very awkward as a performer. when she sang home and a change in me i was so disappointed. It was dreadful. I want to take my nephews to see it again but without her in it. Lets put it this way...she's not christy possible!

PRAY for Jennifer Hope Wills to be on as Belle.

If Hilary Duff goes on Broadway I will kill myself. Especially if she plans on butchering a good role in a NOT DISNEY show.

Is she really that bad...granted it was a couple years ago, but she sounds beautiful as Mary Phagan in Parade
Yes that's me. No, it's not a Rent homage.

Every person I know and trust who has seen her has said she is AWFUL. I viewed press clips after hearing those comments and once again, she was AWFUL.

I saw her a little while ago. It was quite sad, actually. I was expecting better.

I saw her in the show last month. I thought maybe she was having an "off" day.......until I read some of the comments in this thread.
