Were there twitter eyewitnesses or something? Eh, we'll see.
...And I realize now the reason why I'd rather her not spend time on that is because I don't particularly like Glee, ha! (I watched one episode and said "No," then read a general summary of what happened to her character and went "Ew.")
Totally agree that it's a thankless role, and I don't think it's exactly worthy of Idina's talents. But I do understand why the show (and why she) would want an appearance on the finale. Though the character was kinda silly, she was the show's most main character's mother, so it does seem appropriate for her to appear once more before the whole thing wraps.

Once her character had a "quickie" with Puck, then I hoped she would never appear on it again - lol

*cough* Ignoring that gross Glee stuff.
Back to the Super Bowl, in at least one of Menzel's recent interviews, she mentioned that she's definitely singing it live.
So many interviews
Thought I'd give this a lil bump since were a mere 2 hours out. I'm excited to see her tackle this! I have every faith in her that she'll knock it out of the park

I thought she sounded great! Her "free" was a bit weird, but other than that she kept it super calm. I really liked it!
GODDAMN. She was FLAWLESS, and she was so happy at the end! She has never sounded better and they got her name right! Yeah!
I agree, it was calm and safe. I think it was important that she went that route.
Perfection.
I thought she pretty much nailed it - especially for doing it live in a stadium.
Looks like 2015 is off to a good start for Idina!
Now let's go Seahawks!
I didn't think it was necessarily safe, but strategically respectful; though pop-infused, in many ways traditional. Yet still her take. To my ear, only the very first note was a small challenge, pitch-wise. And then, she soared rather easily. It isn't as hard as a couple of moments in "If/Then," and we won't mention That Other Number.
Doubled.
I'm glad she decided to do it as writen. It's always annoying when singers decide to riff the song. It's not pop music, it's our freaking national anthem.
I'm so happy/proud I could cry.

That was some RIDICULOUS pressure there. Total pro. I don't care if (you) hate her voice, but that's amazing.
She's the superstar of our day for sure! She sounded amazing. You could tell she was like "Hell Yeah!" at the end.

She was great! I LOVED how excited/relieved/proud she looked at the end. I felt the same way for her!
Veronicamae - I am sure everyone in her camp is doing a happy dance right now. I hope she gets to relax and enjoy the game, hopefully with her family and friends.
And, for the record, I think someone has worked with her on her interview techniques - because while she still says things that her publicists probably cringes at (cue the Steven Smith interview), she seems much more comfortable and natural in the process.
Instead of coming off as odd and remote, she is coming across (at least to me) as more genuine and someone who you would want to have a drink with... And some of the interviewers (Savanah Guthrie in particular) clearly have a fondness for her that comes across as well.
Go get 'em Idina.
Very nicely done! Nothing crazy or epic about it which I think is good. She said she wanted to sing it straightforward and from a place of patriotism and I believe that came through. It sure was nice to hear the introduction of "Tony award winner Idina Menzel..." on the biggest stage.
She sounded great and she looked HOT
YouWantitWhen???? - So funny, I just described her interview persona in the exact same way, that she's coming across as someone you'd want to have a drink with!

I will never stop laughing at the MILF self-reference. Guffaw, more like it.
Meanwhile, was it over/under? I'm not sure. There seems to be conflicting information?

Really, you "lost faith" because of the NYE performance, done under circumstances the vast majority of pro singers would avoid? No fair weather fans. Especially with the thousands of live Broadway performances under her belt.
Edit:
Never mind on the prop bet. "Idina Menzel National Anthem length prop bet suspended"
