My friend said he got a Show-Score email today letting him buy tickets for a performance of My Fair Lady in March. We laughed.
I want names, damn it!

I posted this a few threads back, but is it possible that Ambrose could be re cast since they haven't been able to get a star higgins?I don't want to wish that on her if she is indeed cast I'm just wondering if plans for a star fell through and the producers maybe decide they want a well known bway leading lady etc.

If this is how you feel after being in a production of the show then I don't know how to adequately explain the point of My Fair Lady or Pygmalion to you.

Actually, just asked Hubby what he thought of Dinklage as Henry Higgins. He'd prefer Ralph Fiennes but think Dinklage would be great. So do I, and he'd be a huge draw.
Who needs Colin Firth?
Game of Thrones has its last season coming up next year. Dinklage will not be available probably well until fall of 2018. The show's principal photography will be through winter and early spring of 2018, and he'll probably be doing promotional tours well until late summer.
It's a good idea, but it will not happen.

I know they start shooting in October, so yeah I imagine he will be doing that through at least the end of the year.

It's never been a case of "on again, off again". Your prediction concerning the run of the show, is embarrassing to say the least.
Peter Dinklage would be excellent... my favorite idea is still David Tennant

David Tenant is always a good idea.

I would watch anything with his English Accent. Though I'm putting off re-watching his last couple of episodes of Dr Who as I need to emotionally prepare.

He's actually Scottish, which makes it all the more charming.
Another week goes by without a peep of casting.
God that was one of the best SNL skits of the past decade.

I believe the delay is because this is my first year as a Lincoln Center member. And they are finding delight in pulling my chain.

Darn it smidge! Causing problems for the rest of us...
Can't believe we haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully next week will yield something. I'd love to get travel plans solidified.

Just putting it out there that I think Dinklage and Tennant would be terrible choices for Higgins. And I like both of them.

I know which is why I specified his English Accent. They even made a joke of it in an episode of Doctor who with him "putting on" a Scottish accent. I think he'd be good.
I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't really like Peter Dinklage but then again I've only seen him in film.
I will still cling on to the hope that at least one day we'll see Colin Firth in the role.
What do people think of the speculation I've seen elsewhere about the possibility of Betsy Wolfe as Eliza?

No, you're not the only one that doesn't like Dinklage. Personally, I can't say either way, as I've not seen any of his work.
I've given up on the idea of Colin Firth. As much I'd hoped to see him as Higgins, I've moved on. My understanding of Betsy Wolfe's departure from Carousel, is that it was due to scheduling conflicts in the near future, so unless the "conflict" is MFL which I doubt, I wouldn't put very much faith in that theory.
Just going to put this into the universe: glorious, glorious, glorious. I desperately hope the Ambrose rumors are untrue and Wolfe really did leave Carrie for Eliza.
Is there any hope we’ll find out tomorrow?

No disrespect to Ambrose, but I hope they ended up giving the role to Betsy. She's paid her dues and worked her way up to being a leading lady and this is just the kind of role that'll make her a star. She's beautiful, hilarious, and a phenomenal singer. She'd be amazing alongside Dinklage. Hopefully we'll know about casting soon. The anticipation is killing me.
