Speaking of non-rocket-scientists, I only recently realized that this Jeremy Jordan isn't the same one who had a minor pop career in the 90s (and a short movie career) -- because looking at him, I had been thinking, "Damn, he aged pretty well considering he must be almost 40 by now.
I think this one should go by Jeremy L. Jordan to prevent further confusion!
I feel awful for the cast and crew of Bonnie & Clyde - I don't know a single person who has actually seen the show and hated it. In all fairness, it should have run for a year or two, but Wildhorn's reputation got in the way.
That said, I'm hopeful that the producers of Newsies still want Jeremy in the show. I need a recording of his Santa Fe.
Very sad about Bonnie and Clyde because it is a stellar production and the critics were unfair to this one. I thought the entire cast of Bonnie and Clyde were first rate. I also loved the direction. I look forward to seeing Newsies as I was not able to see it in NJ.
I don't know, Corine. It might sell pretty well which would mean you might not be able to get comps and have to pay for it. Plus there are no puppets to keep you interested. But on the plus side there's no openly gay characters in the show for you to endure and we all know (or at least I do) how much you detest having to go to anything "gay".
I gotta admit - I don't get the popularity of JJ. I saw him in ROA as Drew, saw him in WSS. Thought he was pretty weak in both. Just all angsty and stuff, regardless of the scene. Not hating on the guy, and definitely not hating on B&C, which I have not seen - just don't really get why Jeremy Jordan is in demand.
I don't get it either. He looks 42. Esp when surrounded by actual teenagers. My friend got the cover spot in Newsies and the dude looks like legit 15. So I'm not sure how that's going to work.
It will be interesting to read what the NY TIMES has to say about NEWSIES, since they sent their third tier critic out to Jersey. I think Clyde is a better part than Jack (yes, I saw both) but NEWSIES was a better more entertaining show. Brantley did not drop his drawers for JJ in B&C so we'll see what he thinks of his Jack.
JP2 -It's a known fact that you have no love for Jeremy Jordan and it's for no reason, you met him one time outside of Rock of Ages and have had nothing to say nice about him ever since. And I know what you're thinking right now "you're just bias cause you love Jeremy" Yes, I do love Jeremy, he's one of the nicest actors I've ever met. Take a look at the count on his fan page or his followers on twitter. We get it, you don't like him and it's fine, but I'm sick and tired of you picking on him every chance you get when you know nothing about him.
What happened from the flea market when you told me to my face that you were happy for Jeremy that he was in Newsies and that he would be starting in Bonnie & Clyde. You told me you were excited for him and wanted to see Bonnie & Clyde. You're such a liar.
Can't wait for your reply to me. Game on!
BTW, this doesn't go for anyone else on this board, if you don't like Jeremy Jordan, fine we are all entitled to our opinions, I'm just sick and tired of JP2 basing his opinions on nothing.
I like Jeremy and I am glad that he is not one of the "not fan friendly" actors like __________.
I have gone past the Broadhurst an hour before and and after Hugh Jackman show Man that guy takes his time and really is the most fan friendly guy I have witnessed.
Anyway good luck to Mr Jordan and the entire cast of B&C. I loved the show and was lucky to see it twice. Merry Christmas to all!
