Hey kids - some of you have such an encyclopedic knowledge of musical theatre - I can't think of a better bunch to ask about this one. My HS theatre teacher is in the hospital. I loved this woman and am making a little get well soon mix cd with different themes. I need one track from a Broadway musical that features a singer(s) singing about how excited/deliriously happy s/he is. Not bittersweet. Not, as Mr. S says, Sorry/Grateful, but absolutely balls-against-the-wall celebratory. Can be male, female, group number. All fine. Subject matter doesn't matter -- it's about the mood. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Blaxx. That one feels a bit too relaxed for what I'm going for. I want high energy. The Broadway equivalent of The Pointer Sisters' "I'm So Excited" but even more juiced up than that. Is that nuts? Probably.
BTW, an exuberant dance performance from a musical (even if there isn't any singing) would work for this as well.
What about We'll Take a Glass Together from Grand Hotel? Or, for a solo singer, She Loves Me from She Loves Me?
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Some of these might be too romantic for your goal, but some might be just what you want.
"Tonight at Eight" and "She Loves Me" from SHE LOVES ME "I'm a Brass Band" from SWEET CHARITY "You Can't Stop the Beat" from HAIRSPRAY "Two People in Love" from BABY "A Lovely Night" from CINDERELLA (R&H) "They're Playing My Song" from THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
Almost Like Being in Love from Brigadoon The Night They Invented Champagne from Gigi (it was in the Broadway version as well as the movie, right?) I Could Have Danced All Night from My Fair Lady
(I think L&L are really good with the happy songs. )

Sing Happy from FLORA is a great song but it is not about being excited/deliriously happy; it is about being heartbroken and wanting to get beyond it while having a nervous breakdown
