We're good with Washington and California, we will pass on the visitors from those other states though.

Now it's just a matter of which shows will be opening that week and which ones will wait. We shouldn't expect every show reopening that week.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Exactly. I hope people know that.

I’m not really here for the dragging of the unvaccinated. I’m vaccinated but some people - like my sister - are cautious about the vaccine and how it reacts to younger women and their cycles and how that might affect them giving birth down the line. Her friend got vaccinated and basically has been bleeding every day since. Like a constant period. So I think some people being cautious is an okay thing and those people don’t need to be singled out and pointed at and called stupid.

But to the matter at hand, I think it’s great they want to reopen. Honestly nothing that has been announced has me excited to Rei the to the theater though.

If people don’t want to go to the theater when it reopens, they don’t have to. We don’t really need all the “well YOOOOOOOU have fun but IIIIIIIII wouldn’t be caught DEAD in a theater until every human being is vaccinated!!”

Spare us. Stay home. Nobody’s forcing you to do anything you feel uncomfortable with. You don’t sound “better than” when proclaiming you won’t go back. It’s unnecessary.

New York Times article has a lotttt of good info that is not currently getting any coverage, including:

- 30 shows planning by end of year

- Cursed Child possibly being condensed into 1 part/not reopening until 2022

- Mockingbird/West Side Story reopening conversations in flux

- Possibly starting out with less than 8 shows/week

- Hamilton/Lion King/Wicked joint press announcement scheduled for early next week

- No specific shows have on sale date for tomorrow except Six

- No change in pricing from before-times, at least at first

- Phantom not starting until October

How about a fully vaccinated, liberal progressive Atlantan? There are exceptions;we're not all anti-vaxx rednecks.

HogansHero said: "an interesting approach to full reopening at the ballparks also in Cuomo's announcements today:

Starting May 19, full capacity seating at Yankee Stadium & Citi Field will be available for fully vaccinated people.

For unvaccinated the capacity will be 33% to comply with CDC social distancing rules.

Masks will be required for all fans.

In theatres, I anticipate 0% capacity for the unvaccinated. It's all about making life miserable for those who choose to put others at risk.
"

Hogan this wording confuses me. How are the vaccinated at 100% and those not at 33% in one stadium? Are there two separate sections?

Please come, and bring Stacey with you! The issue in some states is going to be the unconscionable obstruction of the vaccination data for use by passport apps. I feel confident this will be worked out or that there will be some workaround. There is plenty of time for that, although perhaps not as much for your planning in the short run.

Responding to Jordan, re: Now try and convince me to stay in a crowded indoor public space for several hours when I have been quite overcautious throughout this pandemic."

I've been super-cautious, too, and even though I'm double-vaccinated now, I'm not sure I'll be comfortable in a crowded theater.

Which doesn't mean I'm not going...

I'll certainly be looking for aisle seats. smiley

I'll definitely wait until a few weeks or so into performance resuming to see what people's experiences have been.

Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I imagined how excited I'd be when this announcement came. I figured I'd cry and start planning a trip or something. And I am excited, don't get me wrong. But I can't help but feel maybe this could've waited.

I think that person said Alabama and Florida. Georgia Democrats (who are my heroes) are welcome all day every day!!

From Alabama, and I've actually been pretty proud of how our Gov (R) has handled the crisis. Mask mandate, etc. We aren't all backwards rednecks. But keep judging away from your little island up North.

Her friend got vaccinated and basically has been bleeding every day since. Like a constant period.

That has nothing to do with the vaccine. Unfortunately, fake news spreads like wild fire so please don't believe that the vaccine affects fertility in ANY way.

“We have some information from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists that’s recommending and encouraging women who are contemplating pregnancy to proceed to get the vaccine,” said Dr. Yetunde Ibrahim, an Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology Specialist at both University Hospital and UT Health SA. Ibrahim said that months ago she saw false rumors begin to spread, mainly through social media, saying the vaccine caused infertility.

“My understanding is this started when some anti-vaxxers sent a letter suggesting that the vaccine contained a protein that was very similar to a protein that functions in human placenta,” Ibrahim said. “They were suggesting that making antibodies against the protein that the body can actually attack placenta, therefore resulting in infertility and miscarriages. This was completely erroneous and wrong information."

I can see just 6 shows a week to start. No Wednesday or Saturday matinees.

So possibly Lion King, Hamilton and Wicked will be first(Sept 14) followed by Chicago, Come From Away, Aladdin, Six, and American Utopia a week or so later.

Ha, I was thinking the exact same thing as a vaccinated liberal in Atlanta itching to get back to NYC as soon as possible.

“We have some information” isn’t really comforting. I mean her friend has legit had terrible issues since getting it so I can see why that would pause some younger females from getting it. The research doesn’t seem to be there yet. But I get what you’re saying. I just don’t think people having a rationalize fear against getting it is that crazy.

RippedMan, take it up with the original poster who suggest Alabama and Florida because it was not me. And you can try to put down our little island all you want. We are the center of the universe when it comes to food, culture, theater and finance. Can't really say the same about Alabama. No one dying to go there.

When all doctors and the CDC says it is perfectly safe for females of child bearing age, I am inclined to believe them. That is not a side effect of the vaccine, at all. A lot can be wrong with someone and they can chose to believe it was the vaccine's fault. It's not. It's like when Jenny McCarthy started the whole bull**** Hollywood trend because she blamed her child's autism on a vaccine. Nope.

But, I agree that we should question what we put into our bodies. 100%.

“Harry Potter” just said they’re not coming back until next year so I suppose they are condensing it into one play.

Well, as of stats rereleased today, Alabama is dead last in vaccination rates. Closely followed by Mississippi. So while — speaking as a Tennessean (4th last in vax rates, ugh) vaccinated the minute i was eligible — there’s a reason red states are getting razzed about this. Aligns closely with both education rankings and Trump voting. Sadly. We non-rednecks are in the unfortunate minority.

Yes, Alabama is one the least educated, poorest and fattest states in America. I am not shocked it's last in vaccinations. Sad.
