Bummer. There were some very good people in this, and I hope they were noticed by the right people for another show in the future.

Not much of a surprise, but at least they were able to tell this story for a few months in the midst of a troubling world situation.

Welp, Ken Davenport got a semi-hit with A Beautiful Noise, but not this.

Truly sad, as this is the show that the world needs to hear most right now.
I so hope the Tony nominators don’t forget Chip Zien and his stunning turn in this beautiful show.

Not to be too much of a jerk, but I did not feel that anyone stood out besides Chip Zien, and even his role was a little too 'precious' at times. I would love to know whether the producers finally got some sense, or whether a stop clause was exercised. It will be very interesting to see what is announced to take its place (please, God, let it be a drama)...something not yet announced or something moved to this theatre from a less desirable one.

I feel like this would be a prime opportunity for GATSBY since the Broadway is WAY too big.
Regarding Harmony - the show was middling at best and couldn’t settle on a tone or direction. It tried, but I never truly got to care enough about the characters.

This is so sad. Harmony is filled with bops. I found it refreshing in how traditional it was. The group sounded fantastic with their tight harmonies, Sierra and Julie were fab, and Chip Zien was absolutely wonderful. He gave it his all and man he can spray. He was spraying all over the first row. The orchestrations and choreo are also great. And the scenery and costumes beautiful. It’s not perfect, particularly the nazi scenes, but it’s a very solid musical. So so sad this is closing. Congratulations to everyone involved, they should hold their head up high and be proud of what they did.

…Chip Zien. For when you can’t afford Jonathan Groff’s mouth juices on you.

This is really sad. A lot of good talent in this show and I hope it's recognized by casting directors elsewhere.

The team behind GG would definitely have known the Barrymore was going to be available soon, and if they had wanted to wait for it to announce they would have. Why go to the trouble of putting tickets on sale if you were the very next day going to have to reassign seats?

I love this show, even though there's a lot wrong with it
And I really really hope Chip Zien gets his first Tony nomination for this show because I agree he was incredibly strong in it

I’m glad you enjoyed it but I found it to be awful. The “show the world needs to hear most right now” is Cabaret, and it is on the way, if anyone can afford their terrorist ticket prices.

I reeally hope whatever's coming in lieu is not a musical. It's just not a healthy environment for one to come in now. Gatsby has only worsened the traffic jam, just beacuse of their own predicament with Florence Welch

We are all entitled to our opinion. I respect yours. That said, to me it was well-intentioned mediocrity at every turn.

People were really divided on this show. Even the NYT gave it a critics pick off broadway, and then Jesse Green didn't like it as much.

Warren Carlyle should stop being a Director and stay with being a good Choreographer.
Similar to "The Secret Garden" (Ahmanson Theatre, Los Angeles), his directions are weak: Lacked focus on the story. (IMHO).

thank you for this ... while it's an "n of 1" (as the finbro quants like to say), i suspect it's a really useful insight.

I'd like to see Julie Benko get more meaty roles.

Amen-- and ditto for the rest of this very talented cast. The show--particularly the insufferable writing--was elevated by incredible performances. Chip Zien deserves a Tony nomination for selling those lazy, almost feverishly insane, monologues, and if there were a Best Ensemble award as their should be, this team would be on the short list.
Cant help but find myself feeling sorry for Manilow, whose heart was in the right place, and who chose a worthy story/subject to throw his work into, only to wind up with this mess.
