I'm ashamed to say the movie version of A Chorus Line,
obviously now my knowledge has expanded and Ive seen the Stage Show of A Chorus Line i realise the movie is not that great but it deffinately spoke to me at the time!
But, technically, it was Quilters. It was the first musical I was in (Me, being one of three men in the show). My obsession started with that, as I tried to write a screenplay to it (I was 14). Shortly aftre, I was introduced to Les Miz, then Starlight Express, then Phantom.
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive.
"Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot."
"No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one."
