there is a recording. my sister has the dvd's of this, annie and music man. cinderella was the best of the three. i love the cast. and it's performed very very well.
I watched that on Disney tonight. It took me back to the days of my childhood. I really enjoyed the song between Bernadette and Brandi and the stepsisters after the ball. That's my favorite one.
its color blind casting. it works for a story like this. i personally like but only when it's appropriate. and i agree paolo is hot and he can sing. i wish he would do a bway show soon.
"Have a child for warmth and a baker for bread and a prince for... whatever!"
I liked this too. it wasn't perfect but the adaptation was decent and paved the way for the national tour version with I thought was perfection. as for a CD if you have the DVD you can simply play the DVD on your computer and record the songs then transfer them to mp3 or a CD. that's what I did...
Ah, I too enjoyed the movie very much. And it kinda gave me hope that I can play romantic leads in the future. You know, since Paolo is Filipino and I just happen to be, too. It was definitely nice to see an Asian as a lead in an R&H show that's not The King and I or Flower Drum Song. (Although I did have the lead in South Pacific, but that's a different story altogether, ha.)
"Did anyone esle grow up on the Leslie Ann Warren version? "
Yes... I remember watching it on TV as a child, and then after not seeing it for many years finding it on the Disney Channel on night. I made sure I taped it.
I liked the Brandi verson (although I didn't like Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother), but my favorite is the Lesley Ann Warren version.
