"Not to be clueless, but what does this production have to do with Edwin Drood?"
The link morosco posted shows other productions by this school. One of them is Edwin Drood with a cast that looks like it numbers into the thousands.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Why the hell is everyone so negative. The costumes look pretty darn good, and they look like they are having a good time. Unless you saw it, I suggest not knocking it, b/c it could have been wonderful.

When I was in HS we did Once On This Island with an all white cast, and it came out very good, and we happened to win an award. Color isnt everything...
"Smart! And into all those exotic mystiques -- The Kama Sutra and Chinese techniques. I hear she knows more than seventy-five. Call me tomorrow if you're still alive!"
Check out the "learning objectives" under the Song and Dance link at the bottom of the page. Under Spiritual, they list
"Students will learn to respect their bodies and the bodies of their peers."

Let's not snub high school shows! I was just in an amazing 65 person cast of Beauty and the Beast and I can assure you that it was better than a lot of "Professional" shows I've seen. Anyone who's interested in pictures let me know! Be Our Guest was just overwhelming...I was Cogsworth and my brother was... THE CHEESEGRATER!
BSoBW2: I punched Sondheim in the face after I saw Wicked and said, "Why couldn't you write like that!?"
I think it is too cute! They look like they gave it their all. And remember, high schools and colleges often use "colorblind casting" solely because their pool of willing actors is so small. A friend of mine (who is white) was once so exhausted in college from her involvement in the school's musicals that she breathed a sign of relief when the music department's upcoming show turned out to be Ain't Misbehavin'. No one could fault her for not participating, right, and she would get much needed rest. But not enough actors auditioned and the chairman begged her to join the cast.
Anyway, hooray for the Dreamgirls (HS) cast!!
"Do you know ChrisLovesShows?" "Yes. Why, yes he does!"
I would honestly love to see Dreamgirls performed at more high schools provided they have the talent I think it would be a great high school show considering there are so many meaty roles
