reading this article i have a feeling that the producers goal the whole time was not to bank on broadway,....but on tours and high/middle school productions..
even though I was not thrilled to hear about this show coming to bway my heart goes out to the cast and crew of this show and I pray the best for them
PS Mary Clair I hope i get to see you in this show b4 it closes
It's not really a surprise. They really weren't making any money.

damn joe you beat me to it. I am sad to see another show go but im not surprised. And im sure licensing will make them lots of money.

Best wishes to the crew and, especially, the extremely talented cast. The show was never my cup of tea, but the kids are definitely the next generation of great actors, and I hope they do well in the future.
While I'm not a fan of the show, I certainly would not be thanking God that people are losing jobs in this economic climate (or any other economic climate, for that matter). The news may not be unexpected, but it is not an occasion for celebration. And sadly, I think the recent closings may be just the beginning.
I wish the best for the cast and crew and all those affected by this and other closings.

That's a damn shame. I hope the best for the cast.

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
I found this out last night and was very sad. I wish the whole cast, crew and everyone involved the best of luck.

A valiant effort from those kids, but you have to be a smash hit in this town to stay open it seems. I wish them all the best! And yes, I sort of enjoyed the show. Just like the critics sort of liked it too.
this really is distressing news - not that I'm a big fan of the show (in fact, i disliked it highly) but the fact that the financial crisis has kicked yet ANOTHER Broadway show into the ground is depressing.
All those shows couldn't find theatres before - they'd have no problem now if anyone's willing to take the investment.
blaxx, You can argue that the show isn't good, but to say the cast isn't good is absurd. The cast is amazing, while it has some weaker links (as all casts do) it is over all phenomenal. I would've love to have seen you do eight shows a week when you were a teenager!

I understand if you don't like the show. But I absolutely can't stand the people who are saying good and thank God. What do you gain by this show closing?
I agree, Wishing. Putting thirteen teenagers in charge of an entire Broadway show is a ridiculous idea, but these kids step it up and do their job pretty darn well. There's no denying that there is real potential in these kids. I for one can't wait to see what they do next. To people who criticize them, I'd love to know how you would have done at their age in whatever field of work you're in. Did you already complete a life goal of yours? Were you eligible for a Tony Award or any equivalent honor? I say cut these kids some slack and show them some respect. They're performing from the heart every night. Even if you think the show is bad, it's obvious that they're giving it their all.
amen! i really think they do such a good job! and i really hope, circumstances permitting, i get to see this! Allie is SO good and i def can't wait for her next move!
