"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
crap that means i might be on it... and i looked like ****. lol. i rolled out of bed and was dressed like a bum... i dont think i had even combed my hair!
Who in the hell had the bright idea to wait till Feb to release it? HELLO put it out around Christmas so all those "rentheads" will bitch and moan to their parents to get it for them.
i think they have to keep the intermission in, or fill the time with one of the "special features" it would be one hell of an awkward transition from LVB to SOL.

I was not crazy about the filiming. It actually gave me a headache and I thought was a big disappointment. However I will rent the DVD for the special features. I am very interested in seeing those. RENT is one of my favorite musicals.
i understand what you mean by headache.. on the big screen, the quick movements were a bit much, but hell, it was a live performance, so thats all you can ask for, so ya just gotta take what you get im so stoked though :)
Well it wasn't only the quick movements, but all of the tight shots. You rarely got to see everything that was going on onstage. I was just prett surprised they decided to film it that way. I really feel it was a waste of at least 15 of the 20 bucks I spent to see it in the theater. Just my opinion! Wasn't totally crazy about the movie version of the show, but I like it better than the filmed stage version.

"There's nothing good on. The media hates Christmas. The media loves vampires, though. Maybe they will show a Twilight Christmas." -Danmeg's 10 year old son.
Yay! I should be on there too! Jumping and screaming like a lunatic.
"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." - Sherie Rene Scott
