I know I am going to get yelled at for this... but didn't it look like she wasn't actually singing the last note (lip syncing)? I know she is a great performer and she doesn't seem like a vocalist that would, but for some reason he mouth movements didn't seem to follow the sounds that appeared to be coming out of her...???
Sometimes at these events it is difficult to tell because of the delay in the sound system/camera image. Difference of speed of sound and light? I don't know.
Also, there are delays with the camera and sound at events like this, I doubt she was lip synching, but you never know.

There you go... Wow, that's unbelievable, sad that they feel performers have to use tracks nowadays.
I was writing when you posted Tag, so thanks for the info. Funny that I could tell from her last note - that is the only thing that looked weird. Her vibrato and shaping didn't match her mouth.

I usually hate when people belt the National Anthem (you have an upper register for a reason!) but hers was amazing. I can't remember when I'd enjoyed a performance of the National Anthem so much.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
Piano there was no duet, Faith Hill sang "america the beautiful" and Jennifer Hudson sang "star-spangled banner"... though I can see how you could read it as a duet in the article...
I'm not sure when they started recording the National Anthem at the Superbowl, but the NA has been recorded for the Superbowl for a number of years. IIRC, it's done so there aren't any flubs during the performance.
Amazing performance. I am so proud of her. She knocked it out of the park, and yes... she still kept it as THE NATIONAL ANTHEM and did not put her own musical, look what I can do to show myself off twist to it that would make the song unrecognizable.
Whitney's version back in '91 will always be my favorite, but Jennifer certainy did that song justice. Can't wait for her appearance on the Grammy's next week.
